Has he had a cold at all? M threw up for the first time last week too. She did it at day care so I picked her up and took her straight to the doc. He told me that it was just from the post nasal drip from her cold.

@scg00387: Try not to beat yourself up about it! It happens to so many mamas . . . my LO didn't even cry when she threw up overnight, she just rolled to the other side of her crib and went back to sleep without any fussing or crying! In terms of food, I would just follow his lead. Offer what you would usually offer him, and see how his interest is. He may not have much of an appetite, or it may be normal. So hard to know! Also, if it is a bug, it may take a week or so before it is all out of his system . . .my Ped told me that it just takes kiddos longer to get over things (whereas you or I would be hit hard but bounce back in 24-28 hours).

First time my son had a stomach bug, it was a virus, no doubt, caused while we were on vacation. My husband and I were also victims of it. In that case, just bland foods and clear liquids.

@mrskc: @MsLipGloss: Aw man, I hate to hear you guys are dealing with this too. Cold + Throw up is no fun for anyone!! What has really been helping for us is before bed every night we hole up in the bathroom with the shower on hot hot hot and steam her up good. Then we do a serious nose frida session. And then we prop up the head of her crib mattress. She's sleeping and feeling much better since we started this routine.

@mrskc: EWWW my LO totally swishes it in her mouth and swallows it too. As much as I want to try to teach her to spit it out, I'm afriad that if I try it will just teach her to spit all the time.

@MsLipGloss: HAHAHA, motherhood teaches us some amazing skills. M puked on me in SteinMart on Saturday. And I didn't have the diaper bag with me. I may have cried a little.

Aww, we had the same thing happen. We didn't know she threw up until early morning and the whole lower floor of our house stunk. I felt soooo bad but we honestly didn't know! I hope your LO feels better soon!
