Every night before I turn off the light, I turn the monitor screen on, and say Sleep Tight Sweet Pea. Mommy loves you.
Not like she can hear me......but I do it every night. I am crazy talking to a monitor.

I don't know, I sneak into his room and tell him good night and I love him. Probably actually crazier because I could wake him up!

lol I "talk" to her all the time
but, I leave the monitor screen on all night so..there's that level of crazy going on here.

No, you're not. I talk to my LO as if she can hear me, and touch the screen as if she can feel it. I miss her at night.

she's been struggling with wakeups lately - super clingy. she falls back to sleep in my arms in a second, and I've been just sitting in the glider with her while she sleeps savoring it! I miss her at night too @MsLipGloss:, glad I'm not the only one

@sorrycharlie: Last night, after our regular (post bathtime) routine of rocking through one round of her sea horse (approx. 6 min) before putting her in the crib, when I stood up and walked toward her crib, she gripped me tighter and said "chair, chair" and pointed to the rocking chair. Talk about melting my heart on the spot! And of course I rocked her again through another round of lullabies . . . I was so glad to have her in my arms for a few more minutes.

I totally talk to the monitor. Dh is always saying "you know he can't hear you? "

Hah, not crazy (or, maybe we all are??)!
I turn on the screen, rub her cute little face and tell her I love her.
@MsLipGloss: I miss her too. I hate it when she sleeps in too long on the weekends (even though it's soooo rare) because it's been too long since I've seen her!

@MsLipGloss: I miss her too! I say all the time to DH, I want to wake her up and cuddle.

@Smurfette: I do it too. I also blow a kiss through his closed nursery door if I walk by while he's asleep in there.
It's hard not to turn a little looney when you love someone so much

As someone who is completely crazy where their LO is concerned, I read the title of this thread and thought "Whatever it is, I bet I do it too". And I was right! That probably shouldn't be a comfort to you - my girl has turned me utterly bonkers!

I totally do this. I stroke the monitor and say "Good night, Xander, I love you" in a whisper, like if I say it too loud, I'll wake him up, haha.

I often talk to the monitor screen. Sometimes she'll wake up and look around for a paci and I'll say things like "oh baby girl, you're so close, a little to the left, oh yay! you got it! good girl!". Hubs makes fun of me, but he does it too!

No LO, but I say good night to my dog every night! And tell him I love him, LOL.

I tell DS nite nite baby boy and I love you every night followed by a kiss. Big warm fuzzy feelings even though I know he'll be awake in like an hour and I'll be a grouch. haha
@LindsayInNY: I tell our dog good night too!

I sneak into LO's room before I go to bed, touch her cheek and say "love you my love."

Man, now I feel kind of guilty for NOT saying good night to the monitor!
I do occasionally talk to the monitor, though, when they're laying in some particularly cute way or their awake and interacting in such a way that I get the warm fuzzies.

I talk to the monitor, leave the screen on all night (if I wake up then I can just look and see her sleeping) and I also miss her when she's asleep!

@sorrycharlie: @MrsStar: Mine goes off after a certain amount of time as passed.

um, i don't talk to the monitor but i do look at it because i like to watch him sleep sometimes. and when i am really missing LO at work, say w hen i am driving into work, i talk to him out loud while driving. pretty sure he can't hear me! i don't have a whole conversation, just a few phrases that i use with him a lot in person.

Awh this is so sweet
I don't talk to my monitor but I usually spend :30 or so watching video clips of her after she's gone to bed
it's crazy that sometimes I *cant wait* for bedtime (I'm a sahm so sometimes I look forward to bedtime like it's 5pm!), but as soon as she's in bed, gaaaah I miss her so much.
pomegranate / 3895 posts
I do it every night too, and then I tell DH he has to do it too!
pomelo / 5820 posts
@pinkcupcake: Ditto!
I always go through pictures and videos I took of him during the day once he's in bed for the night. I always stare at the monitor, though I don't talk to it.
DH and I were just joking last night that we should go in his room and wake him up so we could cuddle him!

@Smurfette: you're so sweet! I used to threaten the monitor... "You'd better not wake up!" Haha basically, you're a better person than me.

@mrbee: Oh I do that in the MOTN if she cries out or starts whinning. Every morning I tell her to go back to sleep....
watermelon / 14467 posts
Um, I sneak into her room and say "I love you babycakes, goodnight," and feel her belly to make sure she is breathing.
