When did you get an annual gynecological exam after childbirth? One year later? I'm 13 months postpartum and it just occurred to me that maybe I need to schedule an exam but I will be finding a new office so I figured I'd ask beds first.

@Jennibenni: a year from my last appointment rather than a year from birth. My last appointment was 6 weeks after birth

Im scheduled for one next month, so 4/5 mos post partum. My new doctor did not have my records when I saw her, so she may even push this one back.

I went to my 6 week and then I'm pretty sure I just went on my usual schedule, which is usually in February so it ended up like 7 months PP I think.

I ended up going in only 12 weeks or so after LO was born, mostly because I hadn't had a PCP up until that point and I wanted to make sure I had one since I knew that I'd probably get sick with a newborn. In retrospect, it was weird to go in so soon after my post-partum check-up but I was so used to doctors visits at that point that I didn't really even think about it.

They did a Pap at my 6-week postpartum, so I would typically get a Pap done a year later. I need yearly paps though, I believe the recommendation has changed for the general populace.

Based on the fact that I have the same partner- they said I only need to come in every couple years. And keep giving me birth control. I had a six week exam.

I had my annual exam around 2 months postpartum. It was one year from my previous annual/pap. I think my OB tries to keep people on their regular schedule.

Thanks all! I didn't realize the recommendation had changed from one year.

Had a baby in November and they did a pap at my 6 week checkup after that. Next annual exam is in December again.

6 weeks pp and then yearly. I always go yearly as it's covered by my insurance.

I'm pretty sure at my postpartum check they said to come back in the fall (1 year from my last pap) even though I don't need a pap for 2 more years.

I had one at 11 months, but only because I was getting an IUD placed.
