I'm taking LO to church for the first time tomorrow, but I'll be solo since DH is our worship leader and has to arrive 4 hours early. I'm taking a page out of Mrs Twine's
book and will be a 'baby-wearing fortress', in her words. I'm just a little nervous! 
Any advice would be appreciated!

Try not to stress (easier said than done!) !! Baby wearing is great ! When we first took LO to church my mom reminded me that he's a baby and people expect him to cry so don't freak out if he gets a little fussy ! I bet he sleeps the whole time !
I also suggest wearing something comfy and cool. You will be warm wearing him and for a few months PP I would always get so flushed if I felt like a lot of attention was on me !

I turn into a hot sweaty mess every time my LO cries in public. My advice is don't be like me. Babies cry and fuss, especially tiny newborns. Everyone understands that and will want to help/support you. If you want the help, take it. If you don't want it, firmly and politely decline. You're the mama so you're in charge.

I would bring a bottle of pumped milk just in case you need it as a back up. Nursing in public can be really tough when you are first learning and you don't need added stress if you have a crying hungry baby and lots of people around. Knowing I had the bottle if I needed it helped me feel more confident when I was out with her by myself.

I don't have a ton of advice beyond what everyone already said. When I took my guy out alone the first few times, I packed the crap out of the diaper bag with literally everything I could think of (even an extra shirt for myself!) and made escape "routes" in my head about where I could go/excuses to make if we needed a break.
I'm sure you'll both have a great time! Enjoy the outing, it's good to get out and you'll feel so confident by the end

It is going to go fine and be easier than you think. You will enjoy getting out of the house for a while. I agree with all the advice. Eryone gave you.

Pack an extra cute outfit for LO just in case. I learned my lesson the hard way.

Good advice above. Just listen to your mama instincts and don't worry too much about things not going according to plan. You'll feel super confident once you are there and doing it!

Baby wearing was the easiest way to get through church, pack an extra outfit (something about church caused blow-outs for both LO's), nurse before church and if you use one, have 2 back up pacifiers

I agree w/ @mslipgloss; I had to learn that lesson time and time again though!
Also, don't worry if baby cries and people stare at you. That sort of bugged me in the beginning, being embarrassed if I couldn't soothe her immediately in public. But it's ok, people who have spent any time around babies understand, and those that are rude about it...who cares!

No advice but just know you can do it! I was so freaked out taking DD out and now we go everywhere! Have fun, take your time, relax and enjoy showing off that cute babe

Newborns aren't as loud as you think they are. I remember being so rattled when mine would cry in public, I couldn't think! It takes time to get used to it.
I took bottles of pumped milk everywhere with me for a while, it was less overwhelming than whipping out a boob in public.

Totally agree with newborns not being as loud as you think! I'm much more embarrassed when my LO screams now in public since he's 12 months. Ugh so much louder than when he was super little!
Just don't expect too much. I was such a planner before my LO and I have learned to go with the flow. Sometimes our plans work out and sometimes they don't or they need adjustments.

Try not to stress. That's hard especially if your kid is a shrieker like mine. I hate going in public with her but like others said, they aren't as loud as we think and people expect a bit of fussiness!

We totally chickened out. C went on a cluster feeding bender last night and I haven't been to sleep yet! Maybe next week!

I just saw this - my advice is to pack an extra shirt for *you* just in case! This came in handy several times during solo outings where I was drenched in spitup, pee, or poop!

ETA - We did it! He made some noise during the sermon but luckily our pastor was gone this week so it was just a video sermon - no one cared that he was grunting
Only one person grabbed at him and i just told her nicely to be careful not to wake him and she stopped. The only other snafu - DH saw us out in the crowd and got choked up when he was singing. He had just spoken to the crowd on how evident God's grace is to him now that we have a baby and i caught him off guard. He didnt think we were coming. so sweet! We were 15 minutes late and my hair was wet, but oh well. I feel like I can handle it now!
