Our pediatrician says it's very rare to get the 2-year-old molars before 2, but LO just turned 20 months, and I really think they are on their way. He's drooling more than he did as an infant, and even has a rash around his mouth from all the drool. He's also got his hands way back in his mouth and keeps saying "boo boo." He wasn't a super early teether, but he did have all his teeth (minus the 2-year-old molars obviously) by 14 months. Anyone else get them early? And any tips? He's normally a big eater, but is pretty much refusing anything but yogurt and milk right now.

Yup, LO has always been an early teether. They were completely in by the time she was 23 months. Well at least that's when I noticed.

Both of my kids got them right before age 2 - around 23 months!

DS turned 2 about 2 weeks ago and has at least one, and I noticed it about a month or so ago, and it was fully in. His ped said yesterday at his 2 year appointment that they were all either in, or almost in.

i honestly don't even remember because both of them had all their teeth come in so fast. i didn't even know when the molars came in... just looked in their mouth and it was there. both kids before 2 for sure.

My LO is also 20 months, and going through the EXACT same thing! None have broken through the gums yet, but they are right there on the gum line.

I've been wondering this too. but I look in her mouth, and can't imagine where the heck they will even fit!! it looks like her molars are already almost right to the back of her mouth..and she has to fit more?! haha

My LO is almost twenty months and her bottom molars are cutting now but she had her first teeth at four months so she is an early teether.

@katsupgirl: They didn't come in 4 weeks ago when I wrote this, but I haven't checked in a while. (It's hard to do without practically losing a piece of my finger!) The symptoms seem to have subsided a bit but we have been a little distracted with the coxsackie virus from hell

My son has been having the same symptoms for a few months now, but the 2 yr molars STILL have not cut yet and he's 22.5 months old. I thought for sure they would've been here by 20 months...
