...When do you work out?
There is a 24hour gym close to my house and I'm contemplating signing up. I figure I will do in the evening/night after LO is in bed. I REALLY need to shed this baby weight...

I think that's a great idea!
Personally no, I don't have a gym memborship. I can't exercise now due to migraines, but if I could I'd probably just do a lot of walking with LO. I'm not a gym person, especailly after a day with LO because I'm exhausted!

@artbee: I'm not a gym person, either, but I do enjoy treadmilling. I'm about about to buy a treadmill so I figured I'd go to the gym instead. I'll have to keep thinking...

@Rubies: If you'll use it you should do it! Can you get a monthly membership, at least at first, so if you don't use it you won't be wasting a ton of money?

@Rubies: The Goodlife by my house has a child minding service, maybe that would be an option too? Then you could go whenever you want Especially while you're still on mat leave.

I had a membership but canceled it. Was able to go to the gym a few times a week, but it was a pain. Doing DVD workouts are a lot more convenient for me.. Cheaper too!

I just reinstated my gym membership but have only been going once a week Have to work out a better schedule. Our gym also has child care for 4 hours in the morning and 4 hours in the early evening on weekdays. It's a very nice perk so DH and I don't have to alternate going to the gym. I've only been going Saturday mornings lately but will try to add some weekday evening sessions. Classes are a great way to "force" yourself to workout.

I go during my lunch break. My gym has child care - maybe sign up for one of those so that it will make it easier to go?

Yes. I like going around 2 but that doesn't work with the Kid Care or his naps. We'll be shooting for 11ish when he hits 6 months and can go to Kid Care.

I will, we signed up for a year. We actually go to a center that has day care starting at 6 weeks (1 hour only, I think, at 6 weeks), so I will start back at the gym at 6 weeks WITH the baby.
*We will have to pay more every month for the child care, but it's worth it to me--I've already put on so much weight and I know I have a ways to go gaining, so I will really need to lose it!

I joined a crossfit gym when LO was 6 months and signed up for 3 months upfront. It was the only way to force myself to go. Now I love it. I go 3x a week, usually after putting LO to bed,. Lately, though, I've been going early evening before LO bedtime while my husband watches him.
