I just got an email from VS which is what prompted this...
I cannot stand the word panties! However, the word moist makes me giggle!
Anything similar you either hate or don't mind (but others usually do)?

I was just coming in here to post that I really don't like the word "moist" and see that it makes you giggle!
One of my sisters hates the words "chunks" and "chunky", which I find really funny.

@IRunForFun: That's my word that I love but others hate! I don't know why/what it is!

@IRunForFun: i was going to post 'moist'! unless we're talking about cake, i don't ever wanna hear someone say that word!

@mrs. bird: Seriously! There's this local author I really dislike on a personal level, but I had to read his novel to write an article. He told me the novel was based on his own life experiences, so when there was a sex scene in which he used the phrase "moist curls..." I almost lost my lunch. EW.

I love the word panties!
I hate the word munchies. That's what my husband calls snacks. Cannot. Stand. It.

"Moist" always makes me laugh. The name Gregg (with two "g"s on the end) does the same.
I hate the word "nomenclature."

@IRunForFun: @mrs. bird: Oh, ew. The "curls" takes it to a totally different level!!

Can I have an issue with pronuciation? I think it's really funny when people say pedophile as "peed-o-phile" (though that is how I would pronounce it). I feel awful that it sounds funny to me because it is obviously not a nice word, but I just have to supress laughter.

@LindsayInNY: Lol my friend hated the words "moist" and "panties" so I would torture her by yelling "moist panties!" Yes, I am five.

ack! My BFF and I have a running list of gross words. I dared her to use as many as she could in one sentence once, and my DH was using my phone when her text came up with the gross sentence, he was like "I don't even want to know". Let me see if I can find the text...
ETA: I can't find it, but here are the words I remember:
moist
panties
smear
congeal
excrete
oh, and thanks to TTC, we added ejaculate (as a noun) and mucus

Apparently moist is a popular one! That's the first word that popped into my head! Well, besides ALL names for male and female genitalia. Seriously, why are there no good words for those - they're all creepy and gross!

@Shutterbug: Ahhh, please share that sentence!! That literally made me LOL at work

@swurlygurl: True. I just go with funny words now - vag is a fave. Also, coochy, cooter... Mature, I know

I hate the word "tit". Hate hate hate.
Kind of indifferent about everything else.

I dont like the word panties either! I also hate, hate, hate prego, especially when used as a noun. Someone at church always referred to me as 'the prego' when I was pregnant and I hated it!

@Mrs. Twine: I giggle a little internally every time someone says peed-o-phile too.
Any word with the "oi" sound gives me shivers! moist, cloister, joist... ugh!

I hate when anyone refers to a baby's poop as "caca." Does baby have to go caca? Oh my gosh.... it makes me ANGRY when I hear it!

Omg these are almost all just nasty, lol!!
I know I'm in the minority but I really don't like the word "snuggle(s)" although I don't hold it against all the HB users that use it all the time... It just reminds me of that annoying laundry detergent fabric softener commercial voice.

Anyone else think of the mom from Dead like me and her hatred for the word moist? Haha
pomelo / 5509 posts
@MrsMcD: Ew, what? Who calls anyone's poop caca? I've never heard that done before except for someone to say a situation is "caca" or "bullcaca" or whatever. Gross.
bananas / 9229 posts
@grizz: YES! Anti-panties twins!! I prefer thongs, underwear or full underwear (if there's a butt). Anything but the P word! I'm with you on prego. Preggers also! I'd rather say knocked up (as a LOL) than either of those!

I hate panties (little girls wear panties, a grown woman does not.)
Other words I dislike:
penis
moist
fudge...I love the food hate the word
GOLD / wonderful pea / 17697 posts
@grizz: @LindsayInNY: Yep, "preggers" makes me want to throw something at someone. DH used it once when I was pregnant and I threw a flip flop at him (not very hard...) I don't know why, it just makes me nutty. Prego, too, but to a much, much lesser extent.
Also, another nay for moist. *shudders*.

@LindsayInNY: one of the partners at my firm hates both panties and moist.

I thought of another word but it almost makes me crawl out of my skin to type it. Are you ready for it?
.... Coochie.
GOLD / wonderful pea / 17697 posts
@IRunForFun: @MrsMcD: My stepmom says "caca". She was born in MD, spent the first 7 years of her life in Germany and then settled in South Texas.
bananas / 9229 posts
@MrsH: I would try to use the words/phrase "moist panties" as much as possible at work then
