I do not understand the naked vampire lady covered in blood?? What. Are there vampire ghosts now?!

@HeatherlovesKenny: She's Lilith - Adam's first wife (supposedly from the Bible). She's appearing as a religious vision to bolster the Sanguista movement, the more they ingest her blood, the more they see her....or do they? (and is it her blood)?

seems like it! In an earlier episode, Roman did tell Salome that the blood isn't really Lilith's...but maybe he was lying. I'm not sure! I guess that's the heart of the question - is it a true religious vision they are seeing, or the effects of drugged up blood? I can't believe the season is almost over!

Do you think Bill is related in some fashion to that "warlow" vampire that wants Sookie? Remember how in season 1 Bill was studying Sookie's family history? Hmmm....!!

My husband's best friend is the art director and we're good friends with several other of the production team, so we discuss True Blood a lot in our house. /nerds

@yoursilverlining: ahh okay, I missed a few episodes but then DH turns it on every week and I get hooked again. He refuses to explain anything to me anymore haha.

I love True Blood (and read all the books) but I have to say I'm not really enjoying this season. It was always a little campy and funny but now I feel like it is taking itself way more seriously and the 'funny' parts are just goofy and out of place. I don't get why they strayed so much from the books this season. There will be like 13 books, it's not like they were going to run out of material. I'm still going to watch but I'm worried they aren't going to be able to get back on track. Did anyone else read the books?

@JerricaBenton: I LOVED the books but' haven't read the most recent because I heard it stunk. I'm so depressed about what they've done to the plot line in the show! Ugh.

@JerricaBenton: hmm maybe ill give it a shot! I just didn't want to spend $15 if it stunk..reviews on amazon said no action and no sex, haha!

@JerricaBenton: I've read most of the books (thought not the last couple - just haven't caught up yet), and I REALLY liked the books. That made it really hard for me to get into True Blood. The show has so much EXTRA stuff going on that didn't happen in the books that really bugged me, so I quit after last season. Everything with Sam and his brother just drove me bonkers and I couldn't continue watching the show.

@JerricaBenton: I think part of it is that they are trying to give all the characters equal time on the show, and since the books are told exclusively from Sookie's perspective, some characters fall to the background and you see them very little. They have to just make up stories for those people when Sookie's off doing her own thing, otherwise the actors would be bored and probably wouldn't want to be on the show. That's my guess anyway.

I've never read any of the books, so I can't offer my thoughts on that comparison. But this season is losing me, I think. I just feel like I can't keep track of who's who and who's on what side and what each side wants. And what is up with Bill - is he really joining the sanquinista movement or is he faking it? I can't tell.

I'm really glad to hear most of your opinions about the new season and that it hasn't been that good! I mean, it's a bummer, because when True Blood started, it was sooooooo good. But I quit after last season, and it sounds like it was the right decision for me. Hopefully if any of you decide to continue on, next season will be better.
