On Victoria Day, I went out with some friends and was standing in the sun watching a street performer. I was there maybe 20 minutes without a hat.

I'm used to laying in the sun for up to 5 hours no problem, so I didn't expect how quickly things happened.

I began to feel tired and finally told my friends I was going to find shade. I stood under a sparsed leafed tree and leaned against it.

I got really dizzy all of sudden. When my friends came over a few minutes later, I told them I needed to find solid shade. It was about 100 yards away.

As I walked I started to stumble. My vision went white and purple, I felt weak and Dizzy. I used all my will not to faint.

I finally collapsed onto the little ledge in the shade and put my head between my knees. I started to sweat (wasn't sweating or feeling particularly hot before then). I wanted to vomit but tried really hard not to. A kind lady gave me a bottle of water which I happily sipped. My friend gave me a cold cloth which I put on my head and neck.

I couldn't speak for several minutes except to repeat "give me a minute".

After 15 minutes, I began to feel better. We went back to her apartment and I stayed out of the next sun for 3 - 4 hours. I developed a small headache but it was okay the next day.

I emailed my OB about it and she said the "baby should be okay"

I won't see baby until my ultrasound next Friday but I'm so worried.

I wanted to know if anyone else had heat exhaustion whike pregnant and if it affected baby or how it turned out?

No more going into the sun without a hat for more than 10 minutes for me. Ugh.
