It's making me a bit worried and frustrated that I keep seeing so many other kids picking up lots of words and talking up a storm after their 1st birthdays. My daughter is still barely saying any words. At 15 months she really only clearly says "uh oh", "nuh" (no), and "yeah". Sometimes I can't even tell if she's saying yes or no b/c they sound so similar when she says them. Every few days she seems to pick up a new word, but by two days later she isn't saying it anymore. The doctor isn't worried at all b/c her language acquisition otherwise is great. She can point to pictures of all kinds of words when I say them. She knows lots of animals, cars, trucks, flowers, butterflies, shoes, body parts, etc. She just won't say the words.
I wish she would try to say the words for herself, but I guess I probably just have to be patient. Does anyone else have stories of late talkers who turned out to be ok in the end?
