I used to have one in H.S. a long time ago. I don't remember it being so comfortable because I was a side/tummy sleeper back then. Now I have to sleep flat on my back. Do you like it because it's just really firm?

@SHOPAHOLIC - The heat (I heat it up in the microwave and the buckwheat holds heat for a while) feels so good on my back. My back is always really tense due to breast feeding and general motherhood, haha. Did you just use it as a pillow when sleeping?

@Dagny: I really don't remember. My parents had one brought from Asia, and another weird bamboo box-like pillow. They were always telling me it's better to sleep on hard things - which I didn't like/get. I probably never tried to use it the right way!

My husband uses one and loves it. I try to steal it occasionally because I can scrunch it up to fit nicely under my head and neck when I am in an odd position.

I just saw this thread. Some of our hotels on our trip provided buckwheat pillows and I loved them because I could get them really fluffy and high. I really wanted to get one until I read on Amazon that they sometimes breakdown and turn into dust so now I'm a bit hesitant to get one.

@sunny: I have the blessed nest and I love it. (I use it as a nursing pillow.) I read that review and have not had that issue. Who knows what they were doing to it!
Mine is the best thing ever for nursing or even just holding the baby and she loves it too and it seems like a really good company. It helped me a lot nursing, it has been a godsend and almost ten mos. later I still love it.

I had one when I lived in Asia and slept on the floor on a futon. It was a rough transition, but I'm pretty sure it was better for my back and neck than my bed is! I've toyed with getting another, but my husband would probably not be down with ditching the mattress.
Do you like it with a mattress?
