@Claire.Peonies: Hi friend! I am so sorry you are working a late shift. I'm working a little bit later tonight than normal. I should work 8-5. But sometimes I work 9-6. And sometimes I have to stay entirely too late or - gasp!! - nearly overnight because of some "emergency." I pop onto Hello Bee when I'm having those kinds of days. And drink a few Redbulls. Neither of those activities keep me healthy, but they keep me amped and happy!

I work a swing shift of 3-midnite , but later at times depending on emergencies/surgery etc.

However, im a night owl, so it works out alright! I drink coffee and make sure i have a good book or something like HB up on my phone. I also let myself sleep durin the day so I make sure Im well rested

Thursday night I work. I usually do two overnights a month and one weekend a month as the attending, but I still pull a very similar hour load to the residents.

It's nice to know I'm not the only one who has to work nights! Everyone I know works during "normal" work hours. I work 6pm-2am three days a week. I'm a major night owl anyways so I really don't mind. Plus it works out well with DHs schedule so that we rarely need a babysitter.

I'm working at home on my laptop right now. (This is a pretty typical evening for me.) A little work, a little HB.

Maybe I will make you feel better!? I am at work. I have been so busy and this is the first time I have been able to get on the bee! I work 7p-7a, 3 days a week. I am sorry you are stuck at work, but your misery has found some company. I have been working at night for the past 5 years. As you probably know, it has its advantages and disadvantages. Hope your night is going okay and it is almost over, hooray!!

@Claire.Peonies: glad we made each other feel better! And I am so glad it's over! I am finally home, yippee. I am a respiratory therapist. What about you?

I work overnights probably once a week too - I get so crabby the day before thinking about it! I'm a fellow now so I don't have as many as I did in residency (these are all for moonlighting) and at least I'm getting paid extra now but it's still pretty painful.
