My husband refused to change the style of underwear he wears which are tight boxer briefs. I can't help now at 3DPO but obsess thinking he hurt our chances. We did BD a few times first thing in the morning when he didn't have underwear on which is good but it still bothers me. He told me there are no temperature issues with his "boys". What's the consensus on here? Oh and we do have a son but he used to wear loose boxers. Ugh stubborn men!

I think this is quite a stretch to blame an unsuccessful month on this... I think this is probably close to the bottom of the list when it comes to TTC factors.

My husband wears relatively tight boxer briefs, and we've had NO issues with getting pregnant. My dad wears tighty whities (why do I know that?), and he and my stepmom have 2 kids plus one m/c. (Don't know what he wore when I was conceived.)

I cannot imagine wearing tight underwear causes infertility in men in less than 2 years. I know you guys are stressing about not getting pregnant month 1 like last time, but this really isn't something I would spend any time stressing over or harboring resentment towards your husband over.

Oh geez! Hubby wears boxer briefs, no issues. I used to HATE when people would say this to me, but you need a spa day or something, to relax a bit.

DH did switch eventually while running, but only because he had a known severe motility issue due to a varicocele (which heats up the sperm). He runs long distances and after talking to a few doctors felt that he wasn't doing us any favors by keeping the heat trapped in there during 15+ mile runs. But that's a special situation.

He showed me an article in conceive magazine that basically debunks the underwear thing as a myth. In my own magazine. So yeah. He wins. I'm just being a crazy lady! Not shocking. Thanks for weighing in ladies. I feel really good about this month so maybe that's why I am nitpicking. Poor husband.

So... this is a thing? Never heard it.
I have heard about the laptop constantly on the lap and even a dog sleeping on a man can reduce sperm count. But definitely not underwear.

@Adira: I still feel like I am pregnant! So much so that I wouldn't lift heavy things and made my husband chance our cats litter. Hahah. I still feel confident but every now and then bits of doubt do like to creep in. I'm pregnant though! I just know it. PUPO! @simplyfelicity: hahaha dying!

@yoursilverlining: I know. I am a neurotic and my poor husband sometimes bears the brunt of that. I did apologize to him. He understands I am just TTC insane! I know it can take many months naturally but I'd hate to think we did anything to hurt our chances. Glad to know we didn't. .

@MrsMccarthy: If it helps, DH and I decided not to do OPKS this first month of TTC (after I went it head first.) Then, yesterday, I went to the dollar store, bought more and felt so guilty that I gave them to my friend. No matter how long you have been TTC it can make you crazy because it is hard to relax when it is such a big deal. Anyway, what I have found that helps when I get these nagging doubts is to acknowledge them and release them because they do us no good.

DH only wears boxer briefs and were able to have a baby. I doubt that will be the underlying reason if this isn't your month.

@MrsMccarthy: I hear you! During my TWW, I'd go from feeling super confident to being all "But if I'm not, it's totally because of <insert random reason that has nothing to do with anything>!!!"

I heard this too after researching all sorts of mad things after 8 months ttc. I didn't mind him wearing tight boxers day to day but when he was playing sports I tried to encourage loose boxers as to not heat up the "boys". After one time he came home and refused to do it again, he td me it was like asking me to go running without a bra. I guess I understand!
We got ku month 11, nothing different that cycle apart from I was giving up and starting to plan for infertility appointments. -
@Mrs. Pen: it's an old wives take. I think my what to expect book even mentions it & says "don't swear it, it doesn't make a difference."

My husband wears boxer briefs, and it took us 6 months- mostly because of issues with me not ovulating regularly. I really don't think that should be a huge concern. Sounds like the TWW is making you overthink a little- I've totally been there, hopefully tomorrow is a more positive day!!

DH wears snug boxer briefs and we got KU. It'll be okay it's just this dang TWW!
