In a bit of a panic here, I'm on progesterone support and my first levels at 4+6 were 29 which I was very happy about and is above average but I just got my levels back for 6+6 and they are only 25. Now I know this is actually still average but the drop really worries me and I wont hear back from my doctor for a while.

Progesterone can fluctuate. 25 is still a good number. Don't worry!

I would agree with SwedishFish. And I copied this from americanpregnancy.org:
"In situations when there is a concern of an ectopic pregnancy or miscarriage, hCG levels will often start out normal, but will not show a significant increase or will stop rising all together, and progesterone levels will be low from the beginning."
I think since you've had high levels, it's probably not a concern.

My progesterone was pretty rocky! 29 to 25 isn't a significant drop and as long as they are on top of things you should be okay. 29 to something like 4 I might be more concerned about! But actually it's natural for it to vary a little throughout the day.
Looking back at my numbers, I went from 55 to 54 to 47 and then when it dropped to 28 at 6 weeks I started injections. In the end it turned out okay since as you know baby is here! I'll be thinking of you!
ETA: It wasn't because 28 was a bad number, it was because it dropped so significantly and my RE is obsessive about progesterone support.

Just a thought, last time you took the blood test, did you have a big meal first? I did that once and got a really low number (though not pregnant yet).

I'm also on support (endometrin inserts and PIO injections) and I just got the call that my progesterone was 20.8 yesterday.

@swedishfish: that is a rise for you isnt it? I'm trying to think that if I hadn't had any trouble I wouldn't even know all this stuff! It is hard tp trust your body again once it has let you down in the past.

@Snowdrop: If they're obsessive they'll play it safe if they're remotely concerned, in my experience. I think the threshold for most clinics is in the teens but the conservative clinics like to see your numbers much higher!

That doesn't sound too bad. Mine didn't really drop but they weren't really rising either so as a precaution I was put on progesterone. I hope your office helps you out.

@Snowdrop: I started at 3.7 on inserts, went to 18.7 on inserts and injections and now to 20.8.

@Snowdrop: Mine was 21 at 4 weeks and at 6weeks went to 17 my RE did start me on crinone but only because I already had from last IUI....

My numbers dropped at around that time too and my doctor said it was normal! I understand why you're nervous though- so was I!
When do you have a follow up test? I think 25 is still a good number but if it dropped lower than that I'd be nervous!

@Running Elley: yes I have to have them every 2 weeks and my medication will be adjusted by the results. That is really interesting? Did you ask why it is normal for it to dip? -
@Snowdrop: Nope, I was the one that said I had the crinone and he said well if you have it why not......
