For my husbands birthday I gave him 12 international themed date nights. He gets to pick the meal and a movie to match a country and I will make it. He picked beef wellington for England. Seriously?? Has anyone ever made that before it seems very tricky to get right, any tips?

Have you ever seen Hell's Kitchen? They make Beef Wellington week after week! But to answer your question... nope, I have no idea how to make it. Sorry, I'm useless!

My husband just made pork wellington, and honestly, it looked easy! I think as long as you get your ingredients ready and your dough is pliable enough you should be good.

DH loves beef Wellington and we have made it a few times. It's a little involved but definitely doable. We use Tyler Florence's recipe which calls for store bought puff pastry. http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/tyler-florence/the-ultimate-beef-wellington-recipe2/index.html

If you don't want to make an entire wellington because you're not sure of the temp, you can make individual ones. I find they are a bit easier in terms of cooking temp.

My mom used to make beef wellington all the time growing up. And Yorkshire pudding, strangely enough. Not together though! lol

Not beef wellington but I make pork wellington. I use the puff pastry sheets and it's super yummy!! It's actually really easy, just looks intimidating.

I have seen Hell's Kitchen and I am having visions of chef Ramsey screaming at me for it being raw in the center or over done.
He picked England first and wants beef Wellington and we are watching dr. Who. He gets to pick what I make and what we watch
Thanks for all the recipes. I am doing the individual ones so I just have to find the right cook time and temps. I'm looking forward to it, I love new recipes. I'm just a little intimidated by this one.

I am a pretty good cook and love Beef Wellington (we had it at our wedding). Making traditional Beef Wellington is the only time I have ever failed at a meal and it was a big fail and an expensive waste of good meat. I then saw this on GMA one day and thought I would give it a try. Not traditional, but so good. I am now craving it!

Success!! I was afraid I was going to screw it up but it came out great. I was however in the kitchen for a log time. I made pigs in a blanket for the kids and told them it was hotdog Wellington. They thought it was pretty fun. Now on to the next country. Hopefully he picks something easier
