I think I want it! But it seems kind of slow? Can any share their thoughts on it? And if you're considering one: why? and if you would never get one: why?

We have the Mamaroo. I have a friend who has one and her LO loves it. My little girl screams bloody murder when she's in it. I love the different rocking motions and that you plug your iPod into it. It just rocks way too slowly and the mobile is stupid. But the rocking is what my LO hates.
Of course my LO prefers the Fisher Price Infant to Toddler rocker (that doesn't rock on it's own!) So my arms hurt!
We keep trying to see if she'll use it. She is almost 3 months and no dice. It was a gift, we will probably sell it soon

We had one and sold it on Craigslist when LO was about 5 months old. She only enjoyed it if she was put in it already asleep. But awake, it just wasn't her thing. It ended up being a really expensive and bulky iPod speaker system for us until we sold it.

My son has it and he likes it! He coos at the mobile when we put him in it. He hated it at first, but now he likes it.

I have one I got for $100 on craigslist - I figured I could resell it for that much if it didn't work out once our baby is here in fall. The newer ones allegedly go faster but I couldn't tell a difference looking in store vs. ours.
It seems like every baby wants something different - so I just liked that it held its resell value.. and I like how it looks! I do think that I'll get the newborn plush insert though, but I'm glad it came with the plush extra seat because the older vinyl one isn't very soft.

@mrsjazz: the rocking seems too slow for us too. That was my drawback. Even the newer versions are slow...but i figured for a newborn that'd be nice. After about 3 months it might just get plain boring
@scg00387: if we did get it we'd get the plush insert too! It looks way to large for a tiny newborn from what i've seen in pictures.

We have one and LO has never liked it. I thought It would be great because of the gentle rocking motion but it never did anything for DD except get her in the right position for a bowel movement. We'll be selling ours and getting a swing for the next baby.

In my obsessive stalking of all things baby as we get ready to TTC, I did use the Google to check it out, and the reviews overall were pretty...bad. You'd think when you're spending so much money, they'd be nothing but positive!

We got it... Then returned it. Both our kids didn't like it... Too slow. And the mobile was crazy looking! Why would anyone make dark scary looking balls for babies?
