We've never used fabric softener because I don't like my laundry to have a strong smell... and we've never needed it. I just switched from All F&C to Ecos and I'm noticing that our clothes are a bit crunchier. Has anyone had the same experience? Any recommendations for a more natural fabric softener?

I use Ecos and line dry most of my clothes and haven't experienced the crunchiness of which you speak. Is it possible that you have hard water?

@hergreenapples: It's possible. It's not so hard that it's obvious, but based on how our CD laundry is going, I'm suspecting that it's a bit hard.

I use the Free and Clear Version and I haven't noticed this yet!

We use Ecos but we also use wool laundry balls in the dryer. Babysteals often features wool laundry balls.

I love wool laundry balls! I have 8 and they rock. I bought mine off etsy.

@keiki_mama: @scg00387: Are the wool balls gentler on clothes? I had some of the plastic ones, but stopped using them because I thought they might be damaging our clothes.

@c.sassy: We've been using the wool balls since March and I haven't noticed any damage to our clothes. Sometimes when our loads are large we have to use more than 2 balls to get the static out.
