I always dress my toddler in jeans (most of the time when he was a older baby too!) I see all these posts about how they look stiff and uncomfortable, but I never noticed that with P. he gets around fine in them and is able to run, climb, etc. I like that they protect his little knees when he crawls.

I put my 19 month old in jeans a lot, but I have noticed that depending on the fit he can't climb quite as easily. I try to send him to daycare in comfy pants like fleece or sweats and then dress him in his cute jeans on the weekends.

I don't have any for my LO, but she is still tiny and immobile, I think once they are walking they make more sense. Particularly when it's cold or for rough play!

I have one pair of jeans for my almost 3 year old, at any given time, he wasn't really wearing jeans, in all honesty.
I prefer pants that are lined with either fleece or jersey and have a pull on waist, so it's a bit limiting. I have found jeans with a knit waistband, but they're not lined, so not ideal in the winter...I actually think jeans aren't all that warm, even for me!

I don't put DD in jeans for those reasons. I find that the girl jeans (and skinny jeans) seem a little too snug. I think they're fine when they're walking or sitting, but not so great if they want to climb onto things. Hmmm, maybe i should start putting her in jeans...

R is almost 8 months and I haven't noticed she seems uncomfortable in them at all. She crawls just as fast in jeans as she does in leggings.

I have some great handed down jeans that are super soft - almost softer than some of the Carter's khaki pants. I think the number of washes these went through (two girls before mine) probably played a role. I notice my toddler doesn't like jeans if they're stiff and new but if they're broken in and soft, she doesn't seem to care.

Now that he's walking, I put him in jeans all the time. I love the pull on knit waist ones from baby gap. I feel like they are super comfy but makes him look stylish.

LO wears jeans about 5 days a week - they're durable, cute, comfy, and we don't live in a cold climate. And no, they haven't interfered with his inner daredevil.

I have two pairs of jeans for LO in 12 months size. One pair is a hand me down. When he was picked up from daycare, he didn't have them on because he had some trouble walking with them. I also have the most adorable pair of skinny jeans for him from Carter's. Those he can walk around in better. I like dressing LO in baby sweats and fleece pants. He seems comfortable in them.

At 13 months I have jeans but rarely put her in them, I think she gets around in leggings/pants better.

I put LO in jeans if we are going out. Sometimes I change him into sweatpants after we get home because he does seem to have difficulty moving in certain ones.

Also, part of the reason I don't dress my son in jeans a lot is because he still gets a nap at daycare or on the weekend, and I don't get into bed wearing my jeans, so I kind of carried that over to him...he probably woulnd't care.

@looch: We usually take off LO's pants and put him in a sleepsack for naps on the weekends. It's his no pants time minus his running around in a diaper and socks last night when he threw the biggest tantrum about going to bed not once, but twice.

I think they are stiff and uncomfortable but they haven't been worn & washed a lot!

@cascademom: Yeah, I try, but sometimes, it doesn't work out or my son is being too opinionated and doesn't want to take off his pants....I am a path of least resistance kind of mom!

I'm sure leggings or sweatpants are more comfortable, but I think baby jeans are so cute! And LO doesn't seem to mind wearing them. Some are very soft (especially the ones he wore when he was tiny, those were like butter), but even the skinny ones don't seem that bad.

Depends on the jeans. Gap and children's place are our favorite brands and he doesn't seem to mind them at all

M wears jeans from Carters and she seems comfortable and mobile in them!

My almost 3-year-old wears jeans almost every day, but only knit waist ones work for him and his belly.

T wears jeans from the Gap - I don't think they are uncomfortable for him and he moves just fine. I do usually change him into sweats for naps though.

We were handed down a pair with zipper and snaps. I didn't think those seemed comfy. I just recently put her in a pair of knit waistband jeggings from Baby Gap. They seem comfier, but still not as comfy as leggings. I think once she's walking though, they'd be fine.

My DS only likes jeans that are elastic waist because the button or zipper digs in, and they have to be supersoft. Even my DD at age 5 still really dislikes jeans, especially skinny jeans. She is skinny too. They just are too restrictive, I think. She prefers jeggings.

We definitely prefer leggings/jeggings over jeans. Jeans are so darn cute but they are more restrictive when she is at a playground or play gym (climbing up the slide or into the bouncy house). I haven't put her in jeans since about 18 months bc she likes to climb and play.

I think it just depends on the jeans! DS has pairs from both Gap and Children's Place that are almost as soft as knit pants.

I only put mine in jeggings or very soft jeans.

we have an Old Navy pair she complains about - meant to be skinny and though she's not big I can see the waist is uncomfortable. but we have several pairs of faux jeggings (can find at Target) that are really stretch knit pants with topstitching to look like jeans and those are awesome and seem super comfy.

J has been in jeans from the very beginning and he was a really early crawler, cruiser and walker. I can't speak for other brands, but I buy our jeans at BabyGap and they're super soft and stylish, too.
