I got a new car last year so we probably aren't buying a new car for a long time! I would love a larger car because I bought my Civic with commuting in mind...not kids!

We just got one this year... with kids in mind. A 2013 Honda CRV. I will probably drive this for the next 10+ years. I would have preferred a sedan, but DH wanted a bigger car. We'll be getting another in a few years since his car is getting old.

Just paid mine off, but DH needs a new one, but we want to get a house in the spring so we are hoping to run DH's car into the ground before we get a new one.

Not for a few years at least. We got me a 2009 VW Jetta last month, and my DH's truck probably won't be replaced until LO gets out of day care in 5 years lol.

Not until one of ours dies. We have a 2000 Accord and a 1992/93 (it's unclear what year the car is) Acura Legend. Neither one of us commutes by car, but if we had to buy a new one, I'd love to get a red Leaf. I think they're so cute!

Our was flooded in Hurricane Sandy (had a paid-off Ford Escape). We knew we didn't want to downsize so we went with something similar, again keeping family-appropriate in mind, and got a Jeep Liberty!

Nope. We bought DH's truck in July and our Honda Element will be paid off in January. I really don't love driving either of them around...I feel manly in the truck and the Element isn't my type of car. If we get another car it will be a Toyota highlander maybe in 2-3 years.

We bought a newish Toyota Camry but we are looking at an even newer Honda Insight to upgrade for an equal amount of $. Looking today if anyone has any thoughts...

After my BFP we traded in DH's 2 seater Ford Ranger for my Nissan Rogue, and DH took my little Sunfire. He lasted 6 months driving the Sunfire before he lost it and we bought his new Passat. We'll keep these cars for a while, probably until the Nissan dies

We need to get a new one. The Malibu is not a comfy ride for DH who is 6'2 w/ a bad back. We will have to wait for a while till after tax season is over before we can make the purchase but plan on getting a small SUV w/ DH & kids in mind

We were thinking about it, but decided not to.
We'll probably get a new car once the kids are a bit older and not as messy.

Hopefully! My car was sideswiped a little over a year ago (and since it was a 94 Geo Prizm, it was considered totaled...) so DH and I decided to just one-car it for awhile. Since he travels and is gone so much, it's actually worked out alright. Anyway, I think we're hoping to get something else soon--as of now the plan is to just lease a Rav4...

Not in the near future. I bought a 2006 PT Cruiser when I got back from the peace corps in 2010. It had insanely low miles (like 35,000) and was in great condition. Plus it is zippy and fun and has a deceivingly large interior. I've driven it tons and still have yet to crack 60,000 miles. I anticipate having this car for a long time.
DH and I only have one car at the moment, and will probably get another one in a year or two, but it may not even be necessary! My plan is to move somewhere with awesome public transit so that a car isn't really needed

DH is looking into buying a more family friendly mode of transportation. He currently drives a pick-up truck. I drive a sedan. DH wants to buy a mini van. I am hoping to talk him into a KIA Sedona. I borrowed one when my sedan was being repaired. I didn't want to give it back.

I hope not. I love my car. I think I can fit two kids in there.
