I LOVED E's pediatrician, but I didn't like the practice. When he saw the call pedi last summer she didn't diagnose a double ear infection that landed us in the ER the next day. She says they can hit really fast and maybe that's true, but he'd been spiking very high fevers for a day before that. I dunno, it just rubbed me the wrong way. And then earlier this year, when the exact same symptoms were playing out the hospital didn't diagnose the double ear infection (the ped's office is a satellite clinic of the hospital), even though the next day when we took him to the ped (same on-call doctor as the previous year) she diagnosed it within seconds. I just didn't feel confident in their ability to take care of my child, especially since at the time his fevers were reaching 106.

But anyway, we just moved and transferred to a new practice. I loved his old ped, and if I could convince her to move and work for the new clinic I would. I got a few referrals about this new clinic, though, and I'm hoping it will be a good fit.

Ours is okay. The last time we were there though, we waited over an hour. Then, it was kind of awkward; DD was resisting doing what the doc wanted her to do and it helps DD relax to talk about things she likes. I asked DD if she wants doc to talk to her about (insert favorite thing that is easy to talk to kids about- pets!) because I knew DD would have an easier time with the exam if she was distracted by conversation and the doc did not respond or pick up what I was laying down. Oh well! We like her for the most part.... but then DD got half an exam... like 2 minutes after a super long wait.

Very. He has great bedside manner and actually never gives parenting advice, which I am happy with. He is also super available. If I call him on his cell phone, he will pick up or return the call within half an hour. He also makes house calls, but fortunately, we haven't needed that yet.

Yep, he was a referral from my cousin and dh and I both LOVE him. (as does DS). He's really great! Patient, thorough, and we're on the same page as far as all of our parenting/medical needs/wants for our kids!

Very happy. He is relaxed and informative, but not pushy. If we have a problem, his nurses fit us in same day.

I really liked the one we went to before our last move. She helped calm my worries by clearly explaining what we were going to keep an eye on and would explain her reasoning thoughtfully when I asked her about different symptoms or tests. For things like breastfeeding or nutrition or sleep she was really good about saying 'they're old enough at this age that they can . . . Some parents choose to ... Others .... But as long as mama and baby are happy and they're not ..... (Losing weight or something) then it's all good'. She was just very good about having informative discussions that were respectful of various parenting styles. I've lived in 3 different places since lo1 was born and she's the only one I've really clicked with.

We don't have a lot of experience with him yet (DD is 13 days old), but so far we are really happy. Easy to get appointments, short wait time, and thorough exam while being happy to answer our questions. He also came with numerous glowing recommendations from multiple friends. So I suspect we'll continue to be happy.

I looove our ped.
He's an IBCLC and does weekly rotations at the Newman breastfeeding clinic. He's been so helpful in that area.
It's easy to get appointments. He texts, emails, calls back quickly.
Some of his research on vaccines was just used to modify the WHO recommendations.

TL:DR he's awesome.

Sort of. LO's pediatrician is very sweet to LO and I like her bedside manner, but I don't think she handled LO's food sensitivities correctly (for months, she made us come in every few weeks with a new stool sample, and she basically forced me to stay on an intense elimination diet for close to a year, even though in hindsight, most of it was probably not even needed). So I feel like my LO's first year was extremely stressful in part due to our pediatricians counsel and constant need for tests. I also dislike her office staff, who can be somewhat rude. The nurses are very good though, and the office is convenient for us, so we have stayed on.

We just switched to a different doctor within the same practice. We initially liked the first doctor we saw very much but at the last couple visits she didn't seem to want to answer any questions or spend any time with us. Now we see a doctor that we've had great experiences with, we just had our 1 year check up and she was awesome.

I've switched doctors within the same practice a few times and have found 2 I really like--but first one went on maternity leave and was gone several months, and now the other one has just gone on maternity leave!

I think their new motherhood status has really made their bedside manner better---each of these women took way more time to ask questions, seem genuinely concerned about LO, don't rush through appointments, are more up to date on recent recommendations.

Can't wait till they are both back from leave!

Yes!!! We love our main pediatrician, but we've seen others when she has been sick and they were wonderful. When she had her petichia last year, the ER sent us home with a diagnosis of an allergic reaction. But check up with our Dr soon just in case. We went the next morning and we had to be sent in for blood tests and later on to the Children's hospital for ITP. The Dr we saw was like this is textbook and I would rather be safe with getting it checked out than be upset later. So happy we had it checked out. Her count was down to 7. Had we not gone in or anything, it would have been bad. Whenever you visit, they sit and answer any questions you have no matter what. They get us in within an hour if she is sick. They are the best!!!

We love our pediatrician! We have seen a few other doctors in our practice, and they've all been great, but we just clicked with our primary ped and will stay with her going forward when possible. She has young kids herself and seems to have a similar parenting style so it's been nice to get some advice/validation on parenting topics (especially sleep!). She was also really helpful in managing the reflux meds process, as she went through the same process with her younger child. In general she's very laid-back and no-nonsense which we appreciate. Two of our friends with same-age babies also had the same experience so apparently she's a pretty popular woman!

Love love LOVE our pediatrician!! Apparently we're not alone because he's so popular that he stop accepting new patients.

He has an amazing bedside manner and he always calls and personally checks on the girls to see how they are doing with the antibiotics (or whatever treatment they needed), even on nights or weekends! He will actually listen to me and give me a choice on how we want to go forward with treatment, etc.

Love our current pediatrician. They diagnosed LO right away with something that we struggled with the old ped for months on. With the old ped it was just getting increasingly rude and ineffective, and I had enough of them.

If we get pregnant again unfortunately our current ped doesn't do the infant check at the hospital, but the old one does. Oh well.

The only complaint I have with our pediatrician is his stance on sleep training but I just ignore it and do what feels right for us. Otherwise, he's been great and we've had a positive experience with everyone we've seen in the practice.
