We aren't. This was the first house we purchased and while we like it, we bought it w/the intention of only living it for a few years.
We will prob move into our forever home (or at least, 10+ yrs) in a couple yrs!

I think so! I can't wait to do some renovations!

At this moment, no. In 16 days we are moving into our new, forever home (argh was suppose to be this Friday but got pushed). The difference is 600 sqft bigger but the layout, bedrooms, backyard and schools make a huge difference. We will definitely be living in our new house until we are old.
nectarine / 2994 posts
nope, hopefully we can purchase a home in the near-ish future which we will live in until at at least our children grow up.
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22276 posts
I'm not sure, honestly. I kind of hope so but we may decide down the road we want something else.
grapefruit / 4731 posts
I don't think we are, we bought a house that was big enough for us definitely but we want something different just can't afford it, hopefully in a few years we might be able to but we do have a plan if that doesn't happen.
Kids don't need their own rooms right?

This is our third home and our forever home. We feel so lucky that we bought it just 6 months before our market turned lightening hot. We wouldn't have been able to afford it if we bought right now!
coconut / 8430 posts
I thought so when we bought it... But now we are considering all kinds of options like moving to a different school district, bigger home or even different city! So we shall see! We bought it with the idea that it could accommodate our growing family though.

That's the plan! We bought our place as our forever home, it's exactly the environment I want my LO to grow up in. But DH just started working for a new company since his last one went bankrupt, so now we'll see. The commute also had a lot to do with it, I hope this new company lasts for awhile.

It could be. We like the area and are comfortable here. It's a modest house, we could afford larger but that's more to clean!

We are in the process of selling out house and house hunting for our forever home...the selection isn't the greatest in our market...making things difficult!
GOLD / wonderful grape / 20289 posts
Maybe. We bought it when I was pregnant with lo, with the plan of it being a forever home. But I didn't know how much I would love babies, its a 3 bedroom and while we agreed on 2 kids before lo came, now I'd rather have 3. So well just have to wait and see.

Nope...we're renting a small apartment and can't wait to get out of here!

No. Sadly I do not know if we will ever be able to move to our forever home as well!
watermelon / 14467 posts
Maybe. When we bought it, we wanted it to be our forever home, but there are a few things we want and can't change. So now it might be our five years house and then we move on.
grapefruit / 4823 posts
no, we bought it knowing that we were going to outgrow it/want something else in a few years after we started to expand our family. well the expanding is happening faster than had originally thought(kids will be 15 months apart) and we are currently looking for a new house
cantaloupe / 6791 posts
Nope we're renting an apartment right now. We want to move to our hometown in the next few years so it wouldn't make sense for us to buy until then.
bananas / 9899 posts
No, definitely not! The house we currently own and live in will eventually become a full rental property for us. We're about 2 years from paying it off and soon we'll be moving to a bigger home.
Then we will probably move at least one more time after that before we get to our "forever home".
pomelo / 5000 posts
No. A tiny rental home.
Having moved around most of my life, it's hard to imagine ever being in a forever home!
wonderful pear / 26210 posts
No, but I don't believe in the concept of the forever house. We'll eventually downsize to something near a beach. That's my dream!
papaya / 10560 posts
we will need to do a lot of renovations, but we love this house and would love for it to be our forever home.
hostess / wonderful persimmon / 25556 posts
We're still not sure. It all depends on what happens with our neighborhood. We do love the size of our house and the backyard. I would love for this to be our forever home but I do worry about the neighborhood when my neighbors talk about moving.

We just bought our forever home at the end of February but i hesitate to call it that since I'm only 23! Who knows?
cantaloupe / 6800 posts
Nope. We bought this house with the intention of only being here for 5-8 years.
We're in a really REALLY sucky school district. It has perfectly fine elementary schools but our house isn't big enough and we don't want our kids to go to middle school here.
honeydew / 7968 posts
no, we r renting now and the house we own is definitely not our forever home, wish we could unload the darn place.
pomegranate / 3383 posts
We are locating at the end of the month and the house we just bought could definitely be our forever home...if we decide to stay in our new city!
blogger / nectarine / 2600 posts
We just bought a home and moved in this past Dec. This was suppose to be our forever home, its large enough for our family to grow, close to family (its the same town I grew up in so my mom is like 5 mins away) and in a good school district but I admit I wish it wasnt even if most likely it is. I didnt want to move back to the town I grew up for various reasons and I just dont love this house like I wish I did but for all intensive purposes this is probably it and it makes me sad at times that it isnt what I wanted and other times I feel like I need to just make the effort, embrace it. and plan to change stuff I dont like so I can make it a place I love.
papaya / 10473 posts
It depends on if our school districts change... We might end up in a really good or a really crappy one depending on how some zoning stuff shakes out. I'm sure we'll upgrade someday, and then downsize when our kids are grown.

No. We bought a small starter home, and plan to sell in 3-5 years.
wonderful olive / 19353 posts
Nope! But the next house we move into will be! We've learned "our lesson" with our starter home so we know exactly what we want in our forever home.
pomegranate / 3160 posts
I think so! We just closed on our house about a month ago. It's brand new, and we love it!
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22646 posts
nope! our next house (which we are contemplating building right now) will be our forever home!
nectarine / 2771 posts
Nope, this is our starter home and we plan on only being in it for 5-8 years. The next one will be the forever home though (hopefully)!
cherry / 163 posts
No, but we currently love our cute starter town home. We'll probably think about moving in 4 or 5 years when we're on baby no. 2
GOLD / wonderful olive / 19030 posts
No and we knew that when buying it. Our next home will hopefully be built to be our forever home.
