Since having kids, I've been pretty squarely in survival mode. In recent months, I've been slowly moving away from just surviving... I'd love to be thriving by the end of the year!
Are you surviving or thriving?

Not exactly thriving yet, but I think we're working our way out of survival mode. Year one of twins is no joke, but it's getting easier and we're finding a nice groove as a family.

When I can take a shower in the middle of the night and NOT feel like it's a mini vacation, then I can say I'm at least semi-thriving. For now I'm just surviving, although it's getting easier

I'd say mostly thriving, although now that I'm pregnant with #2 and have a 12 month old, I'm finding that there are some days where I'm definitely not thriving and am barely surviving!

I think I'm surviving being a SAHM - it's exhausting in so many ways, but I think DH and I are thriving together. We have the same goals, communicate well and enjoy spending time together even if its just yard work.

I think I'm surviving. Sadly. How do you know what it would take to make you thrive? When do you know you're thriving?
Answering this was hard, are you surviving because you're unhappy with your life or just because days mesh together?

Just under thriving...moving towards it from surviving! I'm sure it'll be back into survival mode with baby #2 arrives this fall!

@.twist.: It was kind of hard to use a criteria to judge an answer, but I looked at my days as a whole. Most of the time, I am quite happy and truly enjoy my days home with my LO. I'm able to get a lot of stuff done and can see that I have a happy, thriving baby. Occasionally ( like yesterday), we have a really rough day where I find myself losing patience and feeling irritated and grumpy with LO when she is being a bit challenging. Days like that, I feel exhausted, emotional, and am just counting the seconds until DH gets home from work. That's what I consider surviving. Since we don't have very many days like that, I feel as though I'm mostly thriving.
Hope that made sense - just trying to explain how I came to my answer!

I'd say maybe 5 days thriving. 2 days surviving a week
Most days I feel happy and excited and like I am not neglecting the house or myself. Then there are those days when I just feel like I'm not on top of it, or I just catch up and then something happens to set me back and I'm just waiting for my husband to come home and give me a break!

For the most part I'm doing really well. I wouldn't say thriving in the sense that my life is in order and it's what I've always dreamed. But I'm doing well considering. I'm making strides toward those dreams and doing well living my life one day at a time. I'm good about realizing when I'm not happy or having a hard time and doing something about it to make it better. My child - is definitely thriving! Which makes me so happy.

@JerricaBenton: I'm in the same spot. Although I am the Queen of Willful Neglect when it comes to my house!
Most of the time life is great, and then there are a handful of times where it feels like everything is falling apart! It's a LOT easier with a nearly-3yo than an infant.

I was barely surviving past few months...
but now I'm finally starting to feel like I'm thriving again!

Somewhere in between? Things are pretty good. Things would be amazing if #2 slept 12 hours at night! I think that would be a game changer.

I'm definitely just surviving these first few months. Every afternoon I count the hours until DH gets home. The weekends are pretty decent though...

Thriving! The first few months were rough but 6 months was a huge turning point for us. LO is so fun, I'm loving being at home, and our marriage is happy and strong. It helps that I changed my attitude about LO's sleep.. and that the weather is finally nice!

Before getting pregnant I was thriving, now I am barely surviving. Looking after a toddler and being sick/tired is very challenging.
ETA: If I looked at us from the outside we would be beyond thriving.

Things are far from perfect, but I would say that our little family is thriving. We had about 5 months after M was born of barely surviving. I just couldn't imagine that I would ever love my life again. Now we have so many happy moments together. I'm scared to even start thinking about #2 though. Going right back to "survival mode" will be rough. At least next time I'll know how much better things can get.

Moving toward thriving but sometimes just surviving. I'm back to working on personal goals so that's nice.. But sometimes I do feel spread a little thin!

It depends on what time of day it is, heh. I'm not muddling through any more (like I was last week). In fact, things feel so much better, my first inclination is to say "thriving" even though I haven't slept more than two hours in a row the past 48 hours. . Such is the mysterious power of a good latch and healed nips!

I go through phases but right now am in survival mode. This summer is just kicking my butt and I feel like a chauffeur! @honeybear: queen of willful neglect, I love that. that's me to a T!

We're thriving, even amidst a pretty bonkers life right now! We've got so much going on, we can't even see straight, but we're just working a dream right now:)

Surviving with glimmers of thriving.
Eta: thriving in job and mommy hood!

Surviving right now. Maybe in 5-6 weeks when I'm in the second tri I'll be closer to thriving.

Surviving. We are trying, but this has been a very challenging few months in a lot of ways. We are moving towards a plan to start thriving, though!

@Crumbs: I totally feel you! My shower gel is Nivea's "free time" scent and every time I see the bottle I'm like, "yep! It's my free time!" And I think about how pathetic that is. My shower gel is mocking me.
So I'd say surviving with glimmers of thriving as someone put it.

Thriving! The toddler years are so fun, and now that I get to sleep all night, I have the energy to really enjoy life the way that I used to. I really love my life.

Thriving!!! So happy as a mom and in my marriage. My pregnancy has been a breeze, I love my job, and I love myself.

I have a wonderful husband who supports me in everything I do and is an amazing father, I have a sweet baby and one more on the way, and I've recently realized my dreams as far as creating a successful business and having my items sold in my favorite department store. So, even though most days I'm beyond exhausted, spend all day with my gorgeous girl and then work at night, often until 2 AM or later, have morning sickness all day, and the house is definitely "lived in," I recognize I'm exhausted because I have everything I've ever wanted, so I'm fortunate, and I'm thriving.
