My grandparents are deceased on my dad's side. I still have both my maternal grandparents. I had a great grandmother up until a year and a half ago. Boy I wish she was still around to see her great great grandchild be born.

My dad's parents are still alive and we're really close with them. My PawPaw just turned 75 and my MawMaw will be 65 later this year. DS is their first great grandchild!

My maternal grandmother is still alive but my maternal grandfather passed away 5 years ago. He was only 65. He had a long battle with cancer and it was horrible. He was everything to my grandma. I so wish he could have met my LO. He would have loved him!

We lived in our hometown for the first 4.5 months of DS's life and all 3 of my grandparents were super involved. Now, we live 16 hours away and it kills me that they don't get to see him grow everyday.

My dad's parents passed away when he was in his early twenties so I never met them. My grandma left us back in October and only my papa is left out of my grandparents.

DH's grandparents on the other hand are all young and under 70!

We each have just one grandma alive that we see. I have another in a nursing home, but I haven't seen her since shortly after my wedding.

I have one set of grandparents left, but they live across the country and we've never been close. My parents are older - 65 and 70. DH has all his grandparents alive, and they live close and are active. I love it!! His parents are much younger - in their early 50's - so his grandparents are maybe 10 years older than my parents. It's nice that our LO will be able to know their great grandparents. I'm very excited for that!

I have 3 grandparents still alive. They are 76-82 years old and I'm very close to 2 of them.

DH only has one (his grandmother). She's 72. His other grandmother was like a third grandma to me, but she passed away a year ago on Sunday

My maternal grandmother is still going strong at 84, but her husband died 14 years ago. She is going to be very active in our LO's life. My dad's parents are both deceased. I have a step-grandma that's 92, but she has dementia and isn't really aware of what's going on. She knows that I'm pregnant, but can't remember much beyond that and starts panicking that no one is looking out for the babies (even though we tell her they aren't born yet).

My Grandma passed away a couple of weeks ago. She got to know lo for 10 months and we'd see her weekly. Lo was the light of her life, and her last words were to my lo. Her husband passed away when I was in high school.

My other Grandma is still with us but lives 4 hours away. She's met lo once and we'll visit again next month. Her husband passed away when I was pregnant with lo, and she's named after him.

Wow! You all are lucky to have grandparents still around! My paternal grandmother died at 46 before I was born. My maternal grandfather passed away when I was 8; paternal grandfather when I was 17; and maternal grandmother when I was 20. I'm only 28 now, but they all passed away in their 60s or 70s.
My husband's grandparents have all passed away, I did meet his maternal grandmother, she was 93 when she died. Hubs is 36 and his parents are older - 74 and 65; while my parent are both 54. I would give anything to have had more time with my mom's parents, we were really close with them.

On my side just my grandmothers, and all of DH's grandparents are deceased.

Both of my Dad's parents are still with us, but I lost both of my maternal grandparents from smoking related illnesses years ago. DH doesn't have any grandparents left.

I lost both of my grandfathers before I was 5 (one at 2, the other at 4). Coincidentally they were both 66 when they died. I was always jealous of my friends' relationships with their grandfathers because I didn't know what that was like.

My paternal grandmother passed away almost 3 years ago when she was 94, and she lived independently in her own house until she died. She was the glue of our family - still hurts to think that she's really gone.

I still have my maternal grandmother - she's 91. She's had some health issues lately, but she still lives in the house my mom grew up in, and she's doing great for her age.

Both of my parents are from large Irish Catholic families, and are the youngest (or close to it) so their parents were a bit older by the time they were born.

When I was born I had one grandfather. He passed when I was like...23. : (

All four still around though one is quite possibly worse than dead. Very advanced Alzheimer's.

Nope, my last grandma died just a couple of months ago, but the family was pretty estranged on that side sadly. My DHs grandmas & one grandpa are still alive & healthy! We love to visit with them & so does LO.

My maternal grandparents are alive and in their early 70's. They live on the same property as my parents and we are VERY close to them. My dad is 20 years older than my mom so my paternal grandparents have been deceased for awhile. I didn't know them very well.

My paternal grandparents died when my Dad was 8 yrs old, so I never knew them. My maternal grandmother had a massive heart attack one afternoon and passed away immediately. My maternal grandfather was diagnosed with terminal cancer on her 1 yr anniversary and died 3 months later. I miss them every day.

I only have 1 grandparent left (grandma). My maternal grandpa passed away in the late 1960's, and my paternal grandpa passed away in the 1950's. Not sure exactly when my paternal grandma passed away, but I don't remember ever meeting her.

My grandma is 90 and in a nursing home. She has mild dementia and is often "out of it" but she is SUPER excited about LO and always asks my mom for more updates, which really makes me feel good!!

We each have one Grandmother still alive. Mine is in decent health and we're planning a trip to see her in November. His is not in decent health, at all. She's pretty far gone and doesn't have a very good quality of life at all anymore. They're both in their 90's.

I have one grandparent on each side still living. My grandma is 91 (sidenote-her identical twin also lived to a couple weeks before their 91st birthday). My grandad will be 94 in July.

DH has three sets of grandparents who are all in their late 60s and early 70s. They're all alive and doing well. I'm really thankful for this dice my grandparents probably won't be around long enough for my kids to remember them or maybe even to meet them.
