We currently live in an apartment complex that has been "in construction" since January. What was supposed to be a speedy process has been anything but. To say that the constant debris, jack hammers, and trucks in my parking spaces have been an inconvenience is an understatement. We were told in mid-January that we would potentially be asked to vacate sometime in the spring for a few days while they redid the walkways.

Well, lo and behold, I got a notice on my door this afternoon, the 13th of JUNE, that is giving us a mere FIVE days notice to vacate for three days next week. Our rent will be prorated, but they've asked that we stay with a friend or relative during the construction. They left a contact number if we cannot find housing.

I am 37 weeks pregnant, and starting to loose my mucous plug. I know that chances are, I won't go into labor, but what if? Do I just store all my baby gear somewhere, in the off chance that I have to bring my daughter home to a hotel, or a relative's house? I don't have the time or energy - the nursery is almost done!

I live in California, and thought that we needed to be given 30 days notice for something like this. I really don't want to be on a futon somewhere, or in some kind of seedy motel. What do I do? Is this legal?

Ugh. SO. BEYOND. STRESSED.
