I have to do a cold water wash before the hot cycle in order to get the solid matter off the diapers. You can probably experiment with your settings to see what works best, but a cold rinse in your sink might work before heading to the laundromat. Good luck!

I responded to the extra rinse at the end. If you were also asking about the extra rinse in the beginning that is to get out any urine or poop. If you are willing, you can do that part in your tub or sink before heading to your communal washing machines.
