Going to take DS1 this year for the first time, he's newly 3! We probably would have gone last year except for all the running around with DS2 in the hospital.

Our LO will be 2 in December, but we are going to take her to her grandparents and their neighbors. Figure that will be fun enough for her.

DS will be 2 this week and we are taking him this year for the first time.

We're taking M (she'll be almost 15 months), but only to a handful of houses.
pomegranate / 3872 posts
We're just going to do our street this year. LO is 20 months.
honeydew / 7303 posts
We took her last year just to 3 houses in the neighborhood. She was 14 months. We'll go to a few more this year. We've already practiced her trick or treat and she's excited!!!!

We took DS to Zoo Boo last year, but he didn't know what was going on (11 months)
This year we're taking him to Zoo Boo and an event at church and maybe a trunk or treat event we just found out about. He'll be 23 months and excited to say "chickocheet"!
honeydew / 7586 posts
@mrsjyw: Great idea! We have a zoo membership and I just saw that our zoo has a similar event. Fun!

Ummm, 4 months we just went to a couple of our neighbors' houses and obv she didn't eat any of the candy.

We are taking her this year at 18 months with her cousins. I'm excited!
cantaloupe / 6164 posts
Last year at 8 months! We gave her a tiny taste of chocolate, and we ate the rest. She'll be going this year for her first real trick or treating at 20 months.

N was 22 months, and J was 8 months (he just tagged along cuz we were taking N! He gets to do everything at a younger age!)
pomelo / 5621 posts
We are taking him this year at 18 months. We are just planning on going to a couple of the neighbours.

We are going for the first time this year, at almost 4. I have no idea if he's even going to like it but if he doesn't, we can pass out candy in costume at our house.
GOLD / wonderful pomegranate / 28905 posts
If the weather cooperates we'll take our 30m old trick or treating for the first time this year. Just to a few of the neighbors.
pomegranate / 3863 posts
DS was 10 months last year and we didn't take him. We felt like everyone was going to think we only took him so that DH and I could get candy We'll definitely be taking him this year though, he'll be 22 months!

Last year we took her to a few friends doors at 10 months. She will be going this year around our street and then hopefully help pass out candy after.

1.5 for fun. She didn't "get" it but she had fun running after the neighborhood kids. This year will be fun!
honeydew / 7917 posts
DS1 was 18 months old, and we only went to a few houses down our street. He loved knocking on the doors and receiving a treat.

LO was 6 months for his first Halloween, so did trick or treating just to see loved ones. Did the same the next year. The following year was more of the same, and just a handful of houses on our street for fun.

We are taking R this year! She won't know what is going on but will love to follow the older kids around. Neighborhood has a dinner party before.
blogger / coconut / 8306 posts
12 months! We took her to three houses, they had lollipops for her
watermelon / 14206 posts
D was 14 months for his first "trunk or treat".
D isn't home this year, so we're not trick or treating. But, if he were, M would be going to, at 7 months. But, he'll have to wait til next year, at 19 months.

For DS we did the fall festival at our church when he was too young for trick or treating, and started actually taking him house to house when he was 3. DD trick or treated last year when she was 8 months, and by trick or treat, I mean ride in the wagon in a costume while big brother goes house to house.

we've taken charlie since he was 10 months. his first year he didn't eat any candy, but he had fun anyway!
hostess / wonderful watermelon / 39513 posts
LO 1 was one (22 months) last year and she had a blast.
eggplant / 11287 posts
18 months, we went to a festival type thing where you trick or treat businesses, not actual houses.
This year we are doing the real thing!
pomegranate / 3595 posts
23 months last year and she loooved it! Already so excited about this year!
pomegranate / 3411 posts
unless my dissertation defense date that i am waiting for decides otherwise, we are planning to take LO for the first time this year at 23.5 months.
pomegranate / 3845 posts
I think we are going to wait until next year. He's 19m and I thought about just walking him around our cul de sac (less than 10 houses) but he won't eat the candy and I'd feel kinda silly taking him knowing I'd just be eating the candy! I'd probably feel differently if we were close to our neighbors!
pomelo / 5524 posts
We took LO to a few neighbors' houses at 15 months. It was more to see his buddies than to get candy. He's far more excited this year now that he's 2.

We went last year when DS was 7 months. He didn't know what was going on, but he looked so cute in his monkey costume! This year he will be 19 months and a penguin!
GOLD / wonderful pea / 17697 posts
Well, sort of 2.5 months, and 14.5 months. In costume both times, but we just walked with my two nieces for their town Trick or Treat night (which is normally not Halloween night, btw). The first year I wore him, the second time he wanted to walk. This year, if's he's interested, he can do it for real.
I REALLY need to choose a costume for him for this year.
honeydew / 7295 posts
Last year at just shy of 14 months. We only took him to like four houses and let him have a Tatse of candy. This year he can have a bit more.
GOLD / wonderful olive / 19030 posts
We took E last year when she was 13 months, we went around with some friends, and didn't really get candy just let the older kids run up, but it gave us an opportunity to get out and walk around and see costumes.
blogger / pomegranate / 3201 posts
We took Liam last year at 19 months, but he only made it 4 or 5 house before saying he was all done. We'll see how long he lasts this time!
