I know we discussed this before but was hoping for some more input. I know that it is recommended to keep a child's room at 65-70 degress but dang..that's so cold! We usually keep it at 74 and have our LO sleep in a fleece romper. He seems pretty comfortable.
Is that too warm? What temperature do you keep your home?

Huh. We keep our house at 78. We weren't planning on adjusting that for our lo. I hadn't heard that there was a recommended temp for a baby! I'll be interested to hear what current parents have to say!

We keep it at 73 and do the same (fleece sleep sack) when its a particularly cold day or night.

I like it at 71 but DH likes it at 67.
we switch off and on so we both can be comfortable.

I keep the thermostat at 70-72 in the winter. 74ish during the summer

Ours was set at 70 when LO came home with us in November. She used to sleep in a sleep gown and a swaddle. Then after the swaddle she was in a fleece sleep sack. Now it's started to warm up so our heat is set to 69. But I guess since heat rises and our bedrooms are in the upper floor her baby monitor say it is usually 72-76. We just took her out of the sleep sack bc she is rolling over in her crib and seems to get a little stuck with the sleep sack...now she is in footed pajamas and a onesie for the night

For some reason, the temperature and pajamas is always a discussion my husband and I have every night. It's silly but sometimes it stresses me out. I worry that it'll be cold or too warm or that the heater/AC will be bad for our son's health. Why do I worry so much about this? LOL. Like last night, I woke up at 3am and I was so hot. So I checked the thermostat and it said 76 degrees. My son was sleeping in a light tshirt with a fleece romper and I was debating fo 30 mins whether I should turn on the AC. Then I kept worrying that the cold air was gonna make him sick.
Sigh. This is tiring.

@mediagirl: Our pediatrician recommended that we keep the temperature (especially for infants) at around 68-70. Apparently it reduces the risk of overheating and SIDs?

Good grief. I like the temp at 60 overnight or else I'm too hot to sleep. I hope I'm able to handle bringing it up to 65 when we get a LO.

@grace: Wow 60?? I'm freezing when it's 70! haha. 60 might be ok too? I dunno. I know that the recommendation is to keep the air cool (vs hot) to avoid overheating and SIDs. 60 might be ok?

62 in the winter but we'll probably bump it up when LO arrives. But still put her in a sleep sack.

68 in the winter, 72 in the summer. I prefer 68 at all times.
Wagon Jr. can't wear fleece as clothing because he sweats through it every time, no matter how cold it is! We do use fleece sleep sacks in the winter... with thin cotton PJs.

@banana: huh. that's weird. My nurse told me that you need to keep the house at 78 degrees for baby. We don't anymore, since LO sleeps with us. I think we keep it around 70-72, which is actually warmer than I like, but since we cosleep I don't use blankets, so I do get cold at night.
Before LO we always kept the house at 65! I'm shocked at how warm you all keep the house!

We keep ours the same year round. 67 during the day and 66 at night. I can't imagine it being in the high 70s though!

We keep it in the upper 70's in the winter, 75 in the Spring and Fall, and about 69 in the summer. Hubby loves to sleep in the cold, but I'm always freezing and wrap myself up like a burrito with all the blankets.
