Hi everyone,
I am very newly pregnant, and am highly anticipating our first doctor's appointment at the end of March. According to the paperwork I received there is not ultrasound/sonogram at that appointment, so I looked into it. The receptionist at my OB's office told me that they do a "B-scan"(?) during that appointment, so there is no need for an additional sonogram at that time. Previously I'd been told I need to get a separate sonogram a week later (which made no sense to me).
I looked into "B-scan" online, and it's apparently an opthomological procedure? What? She clearly could have made a mistake, but I'm wondering if anyone out there has had this scan, and what it is? My understanding it that a doppler alone cannot detect heartbeat as early as 7.5 weeks (which I'll be at that appointment).
Thanks to all for your help!
