@MUI831: Ouch! I don't think my dr. ever even mentioned pulling it back so I never thought to do it after the first few months. The dr said that its likely to happen again to DS since some of the skin is still attached and will probably tear on its own.
I would classify DS's an 'innie' too, at least for now, I've had to ask other boy-mom's if that was normal.

@Adira: Interesting that it was a problem with Xander and not Logan! I had no idea we'd have to do it for so long!

Yes to what @MrsLonghorn said - for months and months after healing during the first year the circ will try to readhere so remember to retract and wipe after every bath. You usually get some diaper cream or schmekus built up in there anyway. And have the doctor check at all your regular appointments. We had it re-adhere once and working on getting the adhesion to come away is annoying and nervewracking. It wasn't too bad so the doctor wouldn't detach it, but instructed us to rub it with Vaseline and "gently tug" and try to separate the skin at every diaper change?? It took a week of this and it freaked me out when it finally gave way because it happened all at once and I was sure I like tore something! Luckily DS didn't really notice, but it was red down there and it totally freaked me out.

@josina: Yeah! After we had Logan circumsised, I was asking all about the care he would need and explaining about the issues we dealt with with Xander and they were all "Huh, that's new." And I'm like NO IT ISN'T! I know other people have dealt with this too! But Logan's had no issues.

@mrsrain: we didn't circumcise, so things have been really easy and straightforward, just leave the penis to its own devices! Pediatrician was watching for a UTI in the first 6 weeks but then you're good to go. Never try to retract or clean under the foreskin.

We didn't cloth diaper so no advice.

a trick to not get peed on/have them not pee on themselves when the diaper comes off, is to wipe under their bellybutton with a wet wipe before you take the diaper off, wait 10 seconds, then take it off. i think it's so they will pee before the diaper comes off. sometimes it works.

What? Nobody told me I'm supposed to be doing this whole circ thing. It looks ok to me and I haven't messed with it and ds is 3m...?!
