I definitely don't think they are necessary; I wouldn't think twice if I went to a baby shower and they didn't have favors. My mom hosted mine and made sugar cookies in the shapes of bottles, carriage, onesie, etc as the favors and most people forgot to take them anyways!

I don't think they're absolutely necessary.

I had a moon and star theme. MIL made crescent moon stained glass sun catchers as favors and we also used them as centerpieces. there was also a dessert bar that guests got to take leftovers.

I definitely don't think they are necessary, but something small and edible would be a really nice touch. I don't think I've ever been to a shower where there were favours, though!

Not sure I've ever gotten a favor at a baby shower?.....I don't think you can go wrong with edibles. I've seen little potted plants as centerpieces, given away, though. That was cute. You could do the tiniest succulents.

Not necessary but I had favor at my shower with thank you cards attached so it saved me from sending them out later but I just got mini size candies with baby on them like Baby Ruth, sugar babies, cry babies, and mints that had baby boy on them

I definitely don't think it's necessary. Like you, I'd say edible if at all! Most of the showers hosted by women in my family just have prizes for games--which then the winner usually gives to the mom-to-be, haha!

Not necessary, but nice. I always try to make them edible and I love doing candy/dessert/popcorn buffets with cute bags so then people can take what/how much they want.

In my neck of the woods, yes, everyone does favors. It's usually a small trinket or something cheesy. It's hard coming up with an affordable item for so many people!

We had 70 people at my baby shower. My family is enormous. And my shower was on the smal side. We did a dessert buffet instead & the ladies went nuts over it.
