Can you have a baby shower for your second baby? Is that in poor taste? I don't want to seem greedy but I want to celebrate this baby too!

We won't be having a shower for #2. After my bridal and baby showers, I was so over it! lol! I hated sitting there with people watching me open gifts. I think if you want to celebrate the baby, you should do it in whatever way feels most awesome to you. Every life should be celebrated.

We won't be having a full out shower this time but I think we'll probably have a sprinkle.. no registry, maybe just a "bring a book" or something along those lines.
Having a Sip n See is not something I'd EVER want to have to have! lol
ETA: We did have a shower for my #2 but it was #1 for DH & there was 7 years between the munchkins! This time there is right at 2 years between them.

Only if you are paying for it!
JK. I think a sprinkle could be nice.

You can do what ever you like. However, as a guest I would likely decline an invite to a second shower if the children were close in age and were the same sex.

@oscarthegoon: a post baby event typically held any time from 2 weeks to 3 months after the baby is born. It can be hosted by anyone including the parents. Gifts are not expected and definitely no registry. People come over to sip drinks think champagne punch and see the newborn.

@oscarthegoon: It's a type of party after the baby is born where everyone gets to "meet" the baby.
For me, trying to get the whole fam (G, P, & the new bebe) ready for something like that in the early pp days is just more than I would want to manage!

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: thanks! I'd never heard of that.
@Runsyellowlites: Agreed! Sounds like too much stress in those early days.
A sprinkle sounds good though, I'd never heard of that before today either! Thanks everyone.

I'm not having one, but I see nothing wrong with it. I've heard of plenty of people having sprinkles.
Personally I wouldn't want to do a sip and see...... I don't like having crowds around my newborn, especially before her 2 month shots.
