So what do you do with all the baby teeth that Tooth Fairy gathered? Is there a norm as to what to do with them? Do you throw them away or collect them like a serial killer?

@irene: we were just talking about this!! My LO hasnโt started losing them yet, but what do you do??
grapefruit / 4492 posts
I'm not there yet, but I plan on throwing them away
Or there is this
wonderful pea / 17279 posts
Haha serial killer!
Given that I actually saved LOโs umbilical cord/ naval that fell off for at least a year- canโt remember if I threw it away after coming across it again- I will probably keep a few of his teeth for a while.

@Foodnerd81: I don't know!! Truthfully the first two I don't even know where they were (DH got 1 and I got 1, and now we had no idea where we put them). I just got 4 more recently. They are in my jewelry box for now, but I do not think I want to collect a whole box of teeth lol. It's not like I am going to present the teeth to him on his wedding day
@Sams Mom: Oh my GOD that's creepy and cracking me up HAHAHAHHA!!!
@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: Hahaha, RE serial killer: that's what the main character did in the show "You" on Netflix lol

@Sams Mom: The doll should also have finger/toe nail bits, as well as hair coming from trips to the hair salon lol

Omg that doll! I would throw them out but my daughter writes notes to the tooth fairy asking to keep them! I think she finds them really interesting. She likes weird medical things in general
grapefruit / 4492 posts
@irene: that would be serial killer level
@bhbee: @Foodnerd81: I saw it on Facebook over a year ago and I still haven't forgot it
wonderful cherry / 21504 posts
@Sams Mom: well now Iโm sharing it with all my friends whose kids are starting to lose their teeth.
persimmon / 1381 posts
Throw them away! I would be horrified if I found out my mom had a box of teeth somewhere. Kondo those things, say thank you for your service and toss them out.
@Sams Mom: thatโs going to haunt me.
wonderful cherry / 21504 posts
@LadyDi: when DH was at MILs a few months ago with his brothers, they were going through boxes of their old things his mom had saved. The found some of his 36 year old brotherโs baby teeth! (This is what prompted us to start the conversation in our house).

@Foodnerd81: my husband calls that the palate cleanser share something traumatizing with friends to make it less traumatic for yourself
pomelo / 5084 posts
@irene: Well - you learn something new everyday. ๐คฎ Take a picture of the first one and toss. Throw out all others immediately.

Who knew when I clicked into this thread that I'd see something that will certainly haunt me for years to come!
I haven't had to think about this yet, but now it's got me thinking. My first instinct is that I'll save the first one and throw out the rest, but...why? What am I going to do with a tooth? I guess I could find the bags of hair from their first haircuts and save them together and then...clone my children?
wonderful pea / 17279 posts
@Sams Mom: why do the eyes scare me more than the teeth?
nectarine / 2964 posts
Thank you ladies, you reassured me that throwing them out is ok they are in the trash now waiting to transport to tooth fairy land
@erinbaderin: hahahahahaha!!!

@Sams Mom: those are creepy!
DS has his first loose tooth and I was thinking about save/toss. But really what would I be saving them for? After reading this I will toss.
grapefruit / 4492 posts
@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: I think it's the bulgy eyes behind stretched "eye lids"... They bother me too
squash / 13208 posts
@irene: I did not confirm but I read somewhere that they contain your child's DNA and could be helpful should the need arise.
I think you only have 1 child but for those with 2 I suggest you keep a few - my 2nd kid lost her tooth and we couldn't find it anywhere!!! She was devastated - luckily I had one of my DS's saved and so I grabbed it and threw it in her bed and then "found it" haha

So far I have kept them in the envelopes addressed to the tooth fairy. I don't know why and it creeps me out a bit too, but for some bizarre reason I can't bear to toss them!
nectarine / 2288 posts
@Sams Mom: I'm pretty sure I had nightmares about those terrible dolls last night
grapefruit / 4492 posts
@MamaBear87: I feel a little bad about traumatizing a portion of HB... but I couldn't not share it on the perfect thread.
nectarine / 2288 posts
@Sams Mom: maybe we should all make them to keep our kids in line. Behave or the tooth monster will get you
nectarine / 2797 posts
Straight to the garbage. Buuut when my parents got married my grandmother gave my mom her saved box of dadโs baby teeth. So, thatโs always an option too.
persimmon / 1385 posts
OMG this thread is cracking my up. We're not there yet, but I've thought about this too. I think I'll toss them. I got a Letterfolk little passport type book that keeps track of the date and tooth and such.
I can imagine the field day we'd all have is someone started a post about how their MIL showed up one day with a jar of DH's baby teeth...
grapefruit / 4492 posts
@BadgerMom: I without a doubt believe my MIL has a jar of my husband's baby teeth (she kept the umbilical clamp, and stub that fell off. Thankfully I never came across his foreskin ๐คฆโโ๏ธ)
grapefruit / 4492 posts
@MamaBear87: fear tactics might be the only thing that works on my stubborn child... so maybe?
pomegranate / 3858 posts
@BadgerMom: Thanks for mentioning the Letterfolk passport...I just ordered a couple for my kids!
grapefruit / 4492 posts
@BadgerMom: I just ordered a pregnancy and baby passport for my friend. Too bad you don't get a commission,
I'm definitely going back to order the tooth one for my son (hopefully I won't lose it before he loses teeth) and the bird watching one (husband's grandma is an avid birdwatcher)
pomegranate / 3759 posts
There is no way I could throw them out! Iโm planning on buying some of these.
grapefruit / 4492 posts
@Lindsay05: I can't zoom in enough, what are the middle two spots for?
persimmon / 1381 posts
@BadgerMom: Iโve never heard of this letterfolk thing so I looked them up, how cute! I wish I would have known about them sooner!
grapefruit / 4361 posts
Growing up I had a little stuffed bunny with a sachet and all the teeth stayed in there. My mom kept it and tried to "pass it on" to me.... ahhhhhhh
