I hate shopping generally for this reason. I don't shop very much so I never have coupons or know what is going on. But it drives me nuts because I know that they are selling the same items for other people for so much cheaper if you know the right day/coupon code/reward certificate or whatever to use. And I end up paying full price because I don't buy enough or often enough or whatever.

I'm a very loyal Gap/Old Navy shopper... but I only buy online. I find the prices to be lower and easier to watch for deals. Like @catlady I only buy from Gap at 40% off and Old Navy 30% off. I usually try to stock up on everything we'll need for a while when those sales pop up.

I completely agree that it's frustrating that they won't price match in store. I've left things at the register for the same reason, telling them I'll go home and order instead.

Super annoying! I only go to the Old Navy and Gap outlets here. The same items in store (always on season!) are always 40% cheaper. I never visit the actual stores anymore.

Yes I find it totally annoying! I wish they would just stop playing pricing games.

I agree, I think it devalues the brand. I shop at J Crew and am stoked when they do their rare 30% everything sale.

I bought a pair of pants for the babe that were reviewed as being awesome for cloth diapering so I bought a pair in every size at 30% off or so $10 each, they they went on sale and did 50% off sale and I could have got them for $4 within a day or two. I feel like I'm playing a game that I win sometimes and lose sometimes. I am a loyal Gap Inc shopper, I have had a BR luxe card for 10 years (yay for free shipping) but find myself rarely buying non sale unless it's 50% off.

Yep I never use gapcsh and prefer shopping online vs in store because the deals never seem as good in store.

I feel this way about a lot of stores. I hate committing to buying things when I never know if 25% off today will turn into 30% or 40% next week.
