Do you know your LO's blood type? I asked but apparently they never typed it. I have a pretty rare blood type and was just really curious what LO's blood type is.

I believe it's written on our discharge papers.... I don't know off hand though.

They said they didn't type E's, either. I'm kicking myself for not pushing for it. I'm going to ask our pedi if she can type it at our next appointment. I'm not comfortable not knowing.

Not typing sounds crazy to me! I had to know bc I am rh negative and needed rhogam. But I think my hospital types all babies when they're born.

It's B+, which is so strange, because both DH and I are O+. But she has one grandpa with B+.

AB-
I only know from looking at his discharge papers. They never actually told me.

O... either positive or negative since I'm not sure. Nurses told me that DS has the same blood type as me, and of course I don't know my own blood type.

They told us at the hospital. I only remember because I know he is the same as me.

My midwife let me know a few days after she was born what her type is. I believe it's part of her standard procedure.

@tequiero21: Twins can have different blood types? I'd never thought about that.

I don't remember if I was ever told. I'm O+ and DH is B+ though.

He's A+ just like my husband, I'm O+. It was written on his vaccine record at the hospital.

@MaisyMay: I'm assuming that since they are fraternal twins, they can have different blood types like different siblings. I'm assuming identical have to have the same. Initially, they said both were o. But then the next day or so, when we wanted to confirm, they said one o and one b. I believe I saw paperwork that said one o, one b. now, I feel like I should double confirm lol.

@septemberlove: I don't! But gosh I really should know this. I'm going to call and ask.

I'm O+ and she's A+. I'm not sure what DH is but I keep telling him we need to see if we can find out the next time he goes to the doctor.
