Poor little C has her first cold. She's only 8 weeks! I had her checked out at the ped yesterday since she's so little but its just a little cold with lots of congestion. It's so heartbreaking to hear her uncomfortable!
Aside from saline drops and the snot sucker - which she hates now- anything else I should do to make her feel better? I may hang out in a steamy bathroom for a bit too.
And I realize a cold is really no big deal but its still so hard to see her uncomfortable.

My LO had her first cold at 8 weeks too . . . it really sucks! Sounds like you are doing what you can. Hope she feels better soon!

Be vigilant about keeping her hands clean! My son's first cold also came with an eye infection because he was rubbing his nose and then his eyes. The antibiotic eye drops were the worst!

Boo. 
I loved the steamy bathroom in M's first year. She hated the aspirator, so I spent a lot of time in the bathroom with her. I hope she gets better soon!!

@looch: this sounds dumb but what's the best way to keep her hands clean? Wipes? I do not want eye drops too! Of course this is also the first time Dh is going away- weekend trip for a wedding and then a business trip the day after he gets back.

@Foodnerd81: I would use warm, damp washcloths. I didn't use wipes at all during the first year, but if you do, I would use the saline only ones on the hands/face...Boogie Wipes unscented are great!

R had her first cold at 9 weeks, after DH traveled on a plane for the first time. It does break your heart.
Do you have a humidifier in her room at night? That always seems to help R.

Aw, poor thing. Our LO is still getting over her cold from last week 
I hate hearing her so congested! Is yours in a crib yet? We elevated her crib an inch or so with books under the mattress, because being flat made it worse. Keep up the steamy showers and saline/snot suckers. Not much else we can do, unfortunately

@Smurfette: we don't have a humidifier, I was thinking we might need to get one. Luckily we don't have ac or heat on at the moment.
@Bookish: she is still in the RnP so that elevates her. I thought she might have reflux so put her back in it last week, but good for this too. I wish she didn't hate the snot sucker so much but I can't really blame her.
