I remember a while ago seeing recommendations for cheap and light car seats (maybe from Walmart.com?) - we need an extra for travel, babysitters etc and don't want to break the bank. Any recommendations?

@JoJoGirl: we have the Cosco Scenera for the 17m old in my IL's car. It's under $40 at Walmart. But for a 2 yo I might lean towards a harnessed booster to get more life out of it? We have the Evenflo Maestro for DD1 in the in laws car. That's $60 on Amazon now but not sure if the weight/height will work for your LO.

We have that Safety First one from Target! i think it cost about $100. Not as easy to install as our fancy one, but certainly does the trick

We have the Evenflo Tribute as our travel car seat. Fairly light weight at about 11lbs and about $50. Got it at Babies R Us with their 20% off coupon.
