I recently heard about a baking soda gentler test. Had any of you guys done it? Was it accurate? My husband and I are just so anxious to know about this baby's gender. He wants another girl but keeps saying it is a boy lol my heart says girl but baking soda says boy or at least that's what I think it says. It sounds like it fizzles but it foams, a lot. I can't wait to hear if you guys have tried it

So supposedly you add two tbl spoons of baking soda on a clear plastic cup and on a different plastic cup you pee. After you peed you add pee to the baking soda and if it fizzles it's a boy if it's flat or no change its a girl. I don't think it's scientific but just for fun! I am 12 weeks!

I did it with C and it said boy, just like every other old wives tale, pretty much. I had a girl.
I don't have the energy to get out a cup and try it again.

@Emilia80: I actually haven't! How do you do that one? I've only tried the baking soda haha. My aunt says it's a boy because of the salty cravings and headaches lol! I honestly will be fine with either one, I just think it's fun lol

@Mommyof2: ok so get ur engagement ring or wedding band or any ring that u wear and put it through a piece of your hair ( obv u need to rip a long peice of hair, if hair is short grab some thread)
then place ur left palm laying flat ( need to show the inside of ur Palm)
hang the ring / hair above the palm and watch it move. if it goes in circles it's a girl if it's swings back n forth it's a boy.
remember though this will predict all children, living or miscarried, aborted.
so after each time it moves it will come to a stop. so if it first starts going in circles wait for it to come to a stop then it will start to move again if u have more children. once it no longer moves it means that's all the children you'll have.

@Mommyof2: do you have a bump? If you're carrying high it's a girl. DI'd you break out? If so- a girl. Is the heartbeat over 140? If yes, think pink.
According to the tales except for morning sickness (I had none) I'm having a girl, but I keep dreaming boy. Only time will tell.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: I don't have a bump yet or at least that big I don't lol but with my daughter I carried low and everyone argued it was a boy. Also, heartbeat was under 140 all throughout the pregnancy haha so idk! I never had a pimple throughout my first pregnancy and was a girl. So idk! I did crave a lot of sweets though. I am just intrigued since my symptoms are completely different. Yes, only time will tell!!

Based on what I've read, the only "wive's tale" that holds up to actual testing is dreams. The mom is VERY slightly more likely to dream the correct sex. But it's a tiny difference from being random, just enough to be statistically significant. The ring test in particular seems absurd to me. Pretty sure it works the same way as a ouija board.
That being said, the baking soda test was right for my cousin, the only person I know who tried it. I would at least test your baking soda with vinegar first, to be sure it's not old.

Ok so my friend is currently pregnantes with her 4th child. She already has 3 boys and they were hoping this one was a girl. She tried all of the old wives tales, even a red cabbage one (I have no idea how it works lol) and they all said boy. So a couple of weeks she did the baking soda and it said girl. Today she had her ultrasound and she is having a girl! I'm just glad she got what she wanted!!As for me it's just for fun lol. I will try the ring one and post it!! This just leaves me more anxious lol

@Emilia80: ok so I tried it. First it went circles than it stopped that it went back and forth. My mother in law was here and I told her about it and she said to do it while laying down with ring on string on my tummy and the same it said boy! This is just for fun, I know but my husband is hoping for another girl and I could just see his face hahahaha! And he said babe, that's not scientific enough to tell me were not having another princess hahahahaha! His hopes are waaay up for a girl!! We shall see lol

@Mommyof2: I just tried the ring thing and it was swinging! My friend tried it (she's not pregnant) but it went in a perfect circle for her. I find out next week!

how many times did the ring move, how many kids?
it's quite freaky how not matter how many times u do it it always gives the same answer!so yeah u don't have to be pregnant to do this I've been doing this for years. now that I'm pregnant it's still giving same results!

@Torchwood: I have a coworker who SWEARS by the ring test...and it's been right on the last 6 people she's tried it on (myself included, on 3 separate occasions). I agree it's like a Ouija board, I just think maybe she's a great guesser
With this girl I've had a sweet tooth, and I think I look terrible (face and hair), but I also work full-time and have a toddler and am just super tired all the time (too tired to worry about my hair, lol!). The heart rate test was wrong, I think...her heart rate has always been lower than E's was!
