What items are a must have for the beach? We are going for the first time with LO on Tuesday for my birthday. I have sunscreen and some sort of shade as the obvious, but what else?

My LO is 7 months. I bring 2 extra outfits, swim diapers, reg diapers, rash guard, swim suit, hat, fan for his stroller, muslin blankets, big sheet or blanket for him to play/use for changing, wet bag for wet clothes, and a towel. Sounds like a lot!

I heard baby powder helps get the sand off but haven't tried it.

Swim diapers, extra towels, swim suit, sun hat, beach blanket (she doesn't love sand), canopy. toys, everything in her diaper bag with a change of clothes, water sippy.

@bao: I only bring the few toys I usually carry in the diaper bag. The pool/beach usually is stimulating enough:)

Ooh, I missed this the first time around but we're headed to Cape Cod next week and I'm working on a gear list right now!
