My husband's company is flying all of its employees and significant others to an all-inclusive resort in the Dominican Republic for its annual trip this summer. Our baby, who would then be about 6 months, can also come for free. I'm starting to think of the logistics of bringing him along. Any tips or advice? I know we'll need to get him a passport and plan on bringing lots of gear and sunscreen.

I'm in Punta Cana right now (babymoon) and I say go for it!! You are right about the sunscreen and gear, but we're just relaxing and laying around the beach, pool, and our room and it's soooo nice. I don't see why you couldn't do the same with a baby.

No tips or advice but subscribing for ideas! We'll be taking our then 11 month old on a stateside beach vacation in July.

Check to see what shots he'll need for going to DR. Sometimes you'll need to accelerate certain shots. That was the case for a friend that went to Jamaica - he needed to get MMR before going.

I traveled to FL when LO was 8 months and while it was a US trip, I can say that flying and traveling with LO was not a problem. She was great on the plane and at our location. They are very portable at that age. My two concerns would be the following, and I only say this because I've been to the DR and if I were to go, I'd worry about these things.
-Water. You would HAVE to bring enough bottled water for LO's bottles. If she's breastfed, this is a non issue.
-Transportation to the resort. They drive like absolute maniacs over there.
That being said if you are comfortable with the location, the logistics are definitely workable! It was no way near as bad as I thought and I traveled on my own without DH (but with a friend).

Yes! We took LO on a beach vacation when she was 4.5 months. I think the location really suited her... She was so chill and relaxed the whole time!

Like @chrispygal:'s recommendation, I've been advised to bring bottled water for LO when traveling internationally. Even if you BF, just to wash pacifiers, bottles for breastmilk, etc.
Bring all your own baby meds so you don't have to go looking for them if you need them, and you have stuff you know. Check with the ped for any vaccines they recommend?
