did you have your ducts cleaned?
First summer we're living in the new house plus house renovations. So we're def having the ducts cleaned before turning on the AC!
There's a living social deal currently so plan to take advantage of that!

No...we rent, lol.
But I'll remember that for when we buy a house!

We just bought this house and scheduled air duct & dryer vent cleaning... but they couldn't get to us for several weeks and we just had a heat wave so we ended up using the central air before the cleaning.

Nope! I did have them cleaned last year though. I should probably have them cleaned yearly since I could immediately tell the difference after the ducts were cleaned.

@regberadaisy: Lol, it just worked out that we got a deal similar to yours around the closing. We really aren't that on our game . But seems like everyone who got the deal scheduled right away so definitely don't wait to book it!

We do now!!! Last year was our first year in this house and we didn't have them cleaned. Then our AC broke down because they were clogged. So we had them cleaned plus a checkup service call this year

I feel like I never actually have a season where our AC is turned off for a prolonged amount of time. This past winter we had the AC on for various weekends in between cold fronts the whole time!

Our heat and AC come out of the same ducts. I never thought to clean them. Is it necessary?

@MrsCB: depends. Do you have a old home or new? A lot of dust and allergens collect in the duct work. We're going ot clean some ourselves but the pros have equipment to get to ducts that we can't manually get to. It's suppose to help your system run more efficiently as well.

@MrsCB: you *might* be OK? But if you ever have any allergy issues I would def get that cleaned. I would probably do it in a year or two though at least. If you catch a l/s deal it's really not bad. The deal now locally is $47 to clean ten ducts.

I'm a bad homeowner, it never occurred to me to get them cleaned... our heat and air come out the same ducts, guess I should look into that!
