I have been planning to buy a few maternity dresses for 3rd tri, but before I do, I thought I'd poll Hellobee to see if anyone had any suggestions on brands that they had luck buying non-maternity dresses from, so maybe I'll be able to get a little more wear out of clothes post-delivery.

I think it's more about the cut than the brand, but I've gotten a couple of things at Old Navy and Target to wear while on leave. Maxi dresses, things with empire waists, soft jersey type fabrics.
In all honesty, I can't see this belly really fitting into any of my non-maternity things. I've outgrown even maternity dresses and tops.

I had a few non-maternity maxi dresses from Old Navy that worked even though I carried huge.

I don't know if this is your style or not, but I got a ton of wear out of Rachel Pally's Mini Caftan dress. I bought mine in a local boutique, but you can find it at Zappos or online at nordies.
I wore mine with skinny jeans, as a top as well as a dress.

I got a couple of maxi dresses from Forever 21 (for $10/each!) that are awesome and totally work post-pregnancy.

Old Navy & Target, I wore a couple empire waisted dresses, however long worked better htan short. I felt like they were too short when I was really into my 3rd trimester.

I might recommend going up a size if you're even possibly in between sizes, because the Old Navy maxis I have in my regular size stopped fitting a long time ago. I don't even think I'll be able to wear them postpartum because they're so tight at the chest now.

I got a few dresses that turned into tunics when I got really big from old navy.
What I wore most in my pregnancy was cheap maxi dresses from forever21.

I had two dresses from Old Navy and a couple dresses from Target that I continued to wear while pregnant. They had a higher waist line or no waist line and could accommodate the growing belly.

I got a dress from Kohl's that was Ralph Lauren, and it's still fitting well at 18 weeks. I don't think it would last anywhere close to the third tri, but I do think I have at least another couple months with it. And I'm showing a LOT, none of my normal clothes fit except the ones that used to be huge.

They're not dresses, but I bought a few stretch "Interlock" cotton skirts from American Apparel early in pregnancy and am still wearing them - in the beginning they were high-waisted, now at 35+ wks I wear them under my belly. And they'll definitely still work PP. They come in a few hem-lengths/styles depending on what you want.

Agree with PPs about maxi dresses. I have a couple of skirts from Patagonia that I was able to wear throughout my pregnancy, just tucked them below the belly and wore a long shirt or a belly band would work with this too.
