I think October (but still in hurricane season territory) and February (just avoid President's Day) are best when its not too hot and the crowds are not at their peak.

We are planning our next trip for February 2017 because it was HOT in April!

Kids 2 and under are free!

I live near Orlando and I'd say the best time of year is October.

I agree with October - and another bonus of that time of year is that they are often offering their free dining deal. It's not the least crowded time of year (that would be more like the winter months - well, after Christmas and New Years) but if you want to still be able to go swimming it's what I would recommend, best compromise with weather/crowds/deals.

And @jmarionsmith: is correct that kids 2 and under are free.

I highly recommend checking out the disboards or wdwmagic as you start your trip planning, because proper planning can seriously make the difference between an okay trip and a great one. I can't tell you how many times I've seen people not really enjoy their Disney trip because they want to eat at the sit-down restaurants but don't make reservations, don't think about stroller rental places because they don't know the strollers at Disney World kind of suck, spend tons of time waiting in line because they don't take advantage of Fastpass, etc. Make the most of it

October - food and wine festival and mickeys not so scary Halloween party. Plus, that's when I'm going there so there is that

I just went last week from 5/1 - 5/5, and it was perfect! Not too hot... we had some rain, but that helped keep the crowds in check. Most of the lines were very manageable. We looked online and apparently May is a great time because it's not steaming hot yet and most older kids are in school (still saw a lot of families with younger children)

We went earlier in September. The weather was amazing and the crowd was pretty much zero. I want to go in October next year but Dh wants to go in September in two years.
