Yup. Be naked. Dojust quit diapers all together.

Let them be naked sometimes to put together the feeling and action of needing to go, and remember it's a process. Don't think of it as something you are doing or can fail at-- it's their gig. Make it available, and help them when and as they are ready. But don't stress if their timetable is different than other kids you read or hear about, and don't feel like a failure if they aren't in underwear at age two. Ellie was pretty early (right at 24 months), and Lorelei is a potty guerilla (still in diapers, but has all the mechanics down; to the point that she will revenge pee in places if she's mad about something). It'll happen. Promise.

My friend just finished PT'ing her twins a couple weeks ago, just weeks from 2 y/o. She told me they spent 3 weeks with them naked any time at home. I guess naked time and access to potty is the key.

I think no matter what, the "Potty-trainer" MUST keep a straight poker face. Or a sensitive "Potty-trainee" may be stressed out, thought he did something wrong, and regress.

My DS (2.5 years) used to unwillingly, yet still cooperate to use the bathroom in public. I didn't know how to train him standing up so he always sits down on the potty when he pees. One time, his pee shoots out (to my direction) and I sort of had a minor "freak out" reaction. He refused to use the public potty for many, many weeks because of that. The worst is he wouldn't even pee / poop in his pull-up. It was finally resolved until I really worked on it with so many professionals (pediatricians, teachers) to turn it around. Now, if his pee dripped on his pants in the public bathroom, or his pee is shooting out (which doesn't really happen anymore because he stands up in public bathrooms now), I just keep a straight poker face as if I didn't see it or nothing happened.

Like other posters...letting them run around the house naked worked like a charm. My DS was potty trained over a weekend. We started with underwear, but he peed through all of them before lunchtime. We had laminate flooring, so it was easy to clean up.
