I skip breakfast more often than not so I'm looking to find a protein powder for the mornings I'm too preoccupied to eat. Any suggestions?

I actually really like the Trader Joe's brand. I use the chocolate and a scoop of PB2.

I really like Syntrax Nectar carribean cooler. Is yummy on it's own and good in a fruity smoothie. I have also heard good things or "About Time". I have a sample that I haven't used yet. They also make a vegan version.

@loveisstrange: Now in dreaming of putting cookie butter in a shake. Hahaha.

If you're just looking for an affordable meal replacement, I second optimum nutrition. I've had some better tasting brands but unless you want to spend $3/serving, I won't, heh.
I just bought a 2lb container of MRM All Natural Whey Dutch Chocolate and I looooove it.

@hotchildinthecity: @blackbird: Thanks! I'll try it. Do you mix anything in?

@TheSwissWifeStyle: I'll look into that! Favorite flavor?
@bpcmarj: Good idea! I love making green smoothies.

@Ra: depends on my goals, personally. For a breakfast replacement, I do a scoop of powder, a cup of whole milk, and a sliced banana I froze the night before. Sometimes I use coffee and a splash of vanilla extract. It tides me over a couple hours so I still have to eat again around 9, but gets me through my commute and nets me about 30 grams of protein in the morning (I try to get about 90 a day when I can)

@blackbird: I just started PiYo from Beach Body and plan to do it in the mornings. Would it work better that way since it will be after my workout, too?

@Ra: well, if it's a meal replacement, then have it anytime. If you do a lot of body weight stuff in PiYo that taxes your muscles (like lifting would), having a protein shake within 15 min or so sends fuel to your muscles and helps them repair themselves faster! Usually for a post work out shake, I just do water and powder. Super boring. Lately I've been having them at 6am just for a change of pace:) I can't work out on an empty stomach and never have been able to....so I could do half the banana before and dump the other half in the shake afterwards. Just personally

@Ra: I just mix almond milk and the powder in a shaker but I'm using it as a snack or post-workout, not as a meal replacement. I'd boost the calories if you're replacing a meal with it.

@hotchildinthecity: I'm sorry if I sound like an idiot, but why almond milk instead of cow's milk?

@Ra: I just prefer almond milk, personally, LOL! You can certainly use cow's milk.
You can also make smoothies with protein powder as an ingredient. So like bananas, strawberries, ice, milk, powder....
