@BandDmommy: So far I just bought a robe at Target on clearance for $10, and an 8 pack granny panties on clearance for $2, lol I def do not want to bloody my clothes...

I brought comfy clothes to wear but honestly the gown was much more convenient. You bleed and milk everywhere. Haha. It's just easy to ask for a new gown and tie it on. I just wore my own fuzzy non slip socks and some big mesh panties. Haha

@snowjewelz: I actually wore the mesh panties they provided. They put Ice packs and witch hazel in the panties so you need some room.

I wore the hospital gown the whole time. I was stuck with a catheter for over 24 hours after I gave birth because I was so swollen they didn't think I could pee on my own. I will probably wear the gown again next time since they needed easy access to check my stitches even after the catheter was out.

I wore the same yoga pants and a tank top to go to and home from the hospital. In the hospital I wore nothing but the hospital gown and later the mesh panties. I brought other clothes but during labor what I was wearing was the last thing on my mind and afterward I wasn't allowed to take a shower until over 24 hours after DD was born (I needed to be cleared that I was no longer a fall risk) so I felt really really gross and did not want to mess up my clothes. But that was just my experience!

Hospital gown FTW. I chanced into maternity tights and a tunic to go home in.

I wore the hospital gown during labor and just the mesh underwear after recovery. LO destroyed my nipples and I could not/would not cover them. I am topless in all my hospital pics. The guy that took the trash out motioned that I might want to cover up. Meh.

I wore the hospital gown until I could shower and then changes into yoga pants.

Honestly, both times I just wore the hospital gown. It was just easier. To go home I wore the same tank and skirt I wore to the hospital.

I had to stay 48 hours and after the first day of recovery, I changed into yoga pants and this nursing cami. http://www.target.com/p/nursing-v-neck-sleep-cami-gilligan-o-malley/-/A-14653721#prodSlot=medium_1_1&term=nursing+sleep+cami
I felt much more like myself once I was out of the hospital gown.

I bought and packed nightgowns that I had read were good to wear before and after and honestly, I wore the hospital gown that they gave me. It was a good thing too because there was so much FLUID. I changed it a couple of times. I actually ended up unsnapping the sleeves and being pretty open, especially postpartum. I'm a free bird.
ETA I mean, my boobs were covered but my upper chest was open. Easier for skin to skin contact too!

Wanted to update now that I gave birth!
I wore the hospital gown before delivery since I was pretty much confined to a bed. If I wasn't, I might have worn the robe I brought to walk around outside, since the gowns are so breezy! After delivery, I did change into a long shirt w/ buttons I brought. I found that in the hospital gown I was pretty much naked to the world & I wasn't very comfortable in it anymore.
Hospital gave grippy socks so I never wore my fussy socks. I did wear my slippers after delivery.
I also love the giant panties from the hospital, still have a bunch to wear right now for pp!
