Best tips for helping child extend time between potty breaks? My girl is almost 2 and decided she wanted to start to go on the potty. So we went ahead with it and she is doing great. It's been about a week. We do both panties and pull-ups. She keeps them both dry most of the day, tells us when she wants to go, and does both on the regular toilet with a kids seat (no small potty in our house). Only problem is, she wants to go a lot - sometimes every 30 minutes, sometimes every 10 minutes. Evenings around supper time, seem to be the most frequent. I stopped giving her a treat afterwards because I thought maybe that's why she always wants to go. She is still going frequently today even though I have toned down the praise and haven't given any treats. I also am wondering if maybe she is just loving the attention since she doesn't seem to go as often when her dad takes her. How do I encourage her to "hold it" while still keeping her dry? Can someone with a frequent pee-er tell me when their child started to be able to hold it for a little longer? Or I am just expecting miracles since she initiated potty training? My older child was quick to train but I am the one who had to ask him if he had to go since he could hold it for hours at a time...this is new to me. Thanks for any tips or general advice!
