Is she timid? Any chance the hustle and bustle of travel will intimidate her and she'll be happy in her stroller?

I definitely require our full stroller for travel. I'm familiar with it, L's familiar with it, it can hold our bags...

@78h2o: Ooohhh... that does make things more difficult to know she's likely to fight it. How long is your layover? If it's not to rush-y, I'd say let her walk and get some wiggles out!

I'd probably give a cheap umbrella stroller a try and hope she'll let you push her! Toddlers can be so difficult in situations like this!

@78h2o: I have a kiddy sized backpack that I give to my LO. If he doesn't like carrying it anymore I just stuff it into my carry-on (which is also always a backback - hands free is always key to me).
I think I'd take the stroller but my LO has phases were he will just not budge anymore and sit on the ground. I'm always glad if I don't have to carry him in those situations.

When we flew back to the US when C was 2, I pushed the stroller with her in it and wore the carseat on my back. DH pulled the luggage. I have done all three alone though, also.

Umbrella stroller!

I bring her carseat on the plane and use the GoGoBabyz in the airport. She can can walk beside me or ride in her seat while I pull it. I last traveled alone with her when I was 7 months pregnant and she was 22 months.

How much carry on luggage are you dealing with? If you just have one carry on, I would have her walk.

@78h2o: love it! It was only 60 bucks and I use the heck out of it with both kids.

Giving my son something he's in charge of -- his little backpack, for example -- always helps. If you don't want to be responsible for her suitcase should she abandon it, then go with something that's easy for you to add to your own carry-on. But given that she might be tired during the layover, a small easy-to-carry umbrella stroller might just be the ticket!
