More space, for sure. I would like each kid to have his/her own room, and I love having an extra bedroom
To use as a guest room / office.

Having lived in a 2/2 apartment, I definitely won't be going back. Definite 4/3 for me.
@locavore_mama: I agree. I wouldn't buy a house based off the number of bedrooms or loan term. My first requirement is price then the number of bedrooms/bath and I would want a 3bed/1.5 bath, at least. A 2/2 wouldn't be on my list. If a 4/3 and a 2/2 house is the exactly the same price and move in ready, I would go for more space. Well, the other thing to think about is taxes. Doesn't taxes go up based off of sq ft?

I would say it depends on the motives of the move. If you are interested in buying the house as a place to live in and grow in for the long-term, I'd go with the larger house that is move-in ready. If you are buying more for the short-term benefits of owning vs renting, and intend to move at some point in the future, I would go with the smaller one with the shorter mortgage.

If you plan to stay there, I'd DEFINITELY say the bigger one with the longer mortgage. That being said, I'm in a 4bed 2.5bath myself with a 30 year mortgage and wish my house was even bigger! And we're only a family of 3 lol
