After seeing an episode of the UK One Born Every Minute, I'm scared of baby stalling & shoulder distocia.

Health issues with the baby. I can take a lot of physical pain more than emotional pain of losing my LO.

@autumnlove: ya, they sucked. But honestly looking back they didn't affect me in any way long term and I'm just happy both babies were born perfectly healthy.

I was always afraid that my baby would come out looking like an alien or distorted. It was weird! But I also had recurrent dreams that I gave birth to a kitten so that may explain the weirdness.

I'm terrified that the baby will be in distress, or that I will need an emergency C-section, something like that. Before I got pregnant, I was worried about how I could avoid pooping, but now that I am, I'm really more worried about something going really wrong

Currently, I have a lot of fears about it - episiotomy, tearing in general, ring of fire, epidural, placenta birth, c-section, puking, pooping, etc.. But I have 26 weeks to get over it and relax about it so I'm hoping that happens!

I was terrified of tearing-- after having given a med free birth, it seems like such a silly thing now. In the moment, it doesn't matter.

Aside from the obvious baby-related fears (baby won't be OK, something will happen to him), my biggest fears are:
Induction
C-section
like many others!

Tearing!!!! I cringe and can empathy feel the pain when I read/hear about it even though I have never given birth...

Besides serious health issues with the bebe, I was most scared about laboring for hours upon hours and not being able to deliver and then needing a c-section after my body was so exhausted and worn down. So, I just scheduled a c-section. Honestly, the mechanics of a c-section seemed a lot less scary to me than the mechanics of giving birth. Yikes!
I was also terrified of hemorrhaging since my mom hemorrhaged after me and could have died.

if it reassures anyone, I had a horrible, horrible tear (she literally FLEW out..no cone head, and her head is gigantic!!) and though it took a few weeks to feel normal, motrin helped! after the first couple days it wasn't unbearable. it's not as scary as you'd think..i took a look and things look normal
