Men of the hive, or ladies, can you recommend a good book? DH really wants one of his own to read.
I bought Your Pregnancy Week by Week and plan to buy What to Expect.
Thanks in advance!

I am interested in hearing the answers to this also. I bought a book for DH about Husband Coached Childbirth: The Bradley Way (or some such similar title) because he said he is interested in being my birth coach and scoffs at the idea of a doula, but I don't know how much of it he's flipped through yet (we aren't even pregnant yet, so there's plenty of time to find the best books).

I was really disappointed in the selection when I looked. It seemed like so many books targeted to men were either from a "joke" perspective and/or assumed that the man was an idiot.
I find that what works best is when I read stuff and then say "Huh..." Then my husband will ask what's so interesting and I'll just read a section to him

My partner read "Girlfriend's Guide". I think he was horrified the whole time, but he says it gave him a completely different (and more sympathetic) perspective on pregnancy than he otherwise would have had.

I read Girlfriend's Guide already and it was pretty good. I read sections of it to DH.

We read Be Prepared. A Practical Handbook for New Dads. I really liked it, so did he. It's funny but educational.
@MegWag: I do that all the time with my husband! When I'm reading a book, I usually see if he's up to learning and then read him what I find interesting. I always read him my weekly stats. "this week, your baby is the size of a bell pepper." ha!

I bought DH this when we found out we were having a girl.

It was a GREAT book. I read it too.

@mediagirl: This ROCKS. There is also the baby manual (looks like a car manual)

Mine read one called "The Expectant Father" that he liked.
@sorrycharlie: I hate What to Expect! LOL. Kinda condescending and alarmist, though maybe I'm oversensitive. I had the app on my phone and did not find it cute when it started joking that there should be beeping noises anytime I backed up. Ugh. Highly recommend the Mayo Clinic guide and Great Expectations, though.

Thank you guys! Just stumbled upon Birth partner for 3.50 at Burlington coat factory!
@Mrs. Yoyo: hmm..maybe I'll download a sample of the mayo clinic. I can understand not wanting the alarmist type of info..I haven't been super impressed by week by week..I think I want more pictures, haha!
